Terminology3.1 Terms shall be defined in accordance with TerminologyB899.3.2 D
9、efinitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 die casting, na casting process in which moltenmetal is injected under high velocity and pressure into a metaldie and solidified, also a product produced by such a process.Alternately known as pressure die casting.4. Ordering Information4.1 Orders
10、for die castings shall include the following basicinformation in addition to the information specified in Speci-fication B949, Section 4:4.1.1 Part name and number,4.1.2 Alloy (Table 1), and4.1.3 Drawing of die casting, when required, giving allnecessary dimensions and showing latest revisions and a
11、llow-ances for machining, if any. Location of ejector pin marks orparting lines shall be at the option of the producer, unlessspecifically designated on the drawing.4.2 Additional tests, options and special inspection require-ments as provided below should be justified only on the basis1ACuZinc and

Materials and Manufacture5.1 The metal used in the manufacture of die castings shallbe zinc alloy of a specified chemical composition conformingto the requirements of Speci
19、fication B892.5.2 The material covered by this specification shall be ofuniform quality and shall be free of harmful contamination.6. Quality Assurance6.1 Responsibility for InspectionWhen specified in thecontract or purchase order, the producer or supplier is respon-sible for the performance of all
20、 inspection and test require-ments specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in thecontract or order, the producer or supplier may use his own orany other suitable facilities for the performance of the inspec-tion and test requirements specified herein, unless disapprovedby the purchaser. The
21、purchaser shall have the right to performany of the inspections and tests set forth in this specification.Quality assurance standards shall be agreed upon between theproducer or supplier and purchaser at the time a contract ororder is placed.6.2 For normal inspection purposes, an inspection lot shal
22、lconsist of the production from each die during a singleproduction run, as defined and recorded by the producer, andshipped, or available for shipment, at one time.6.2.1 The producer or supplier shall examine each diecasting of a randomly or statistically selected sample todetermine conformance to t
23、he requirements of the contract,purchase order, or part drawing. The results of this inspectionshall be recorded.6.2.1.1 Unless otherwise specified in the contract, purchaseorder, or part drawing, detailed dimensional conformance shallnormally be determined on one or more production samples.6.2.2 Wh
24、en specified in the contact, purchase order, or partdrawing, special inspection lot definitions may be established,for a specific part.7.
