The height offallofthemicrogrittobetested(fromtheupperedgeofthechannelbottomtothebottomofthemeasuring cylinder)shallbe(140 1)mm. Calibrationofthemeasuringcylindercanbeachievedbythefo

MethodA Thedry,emptymeasuringcylinderisweighedtogetherwithaflatglassplate.Themeasurin gcylinderisfilledwith water and the glass plate placed on the cylinderinsuchawaythatnoairbubbleispresent.Theglassplateisheld inthisposition,thesurpluswaterremovedandthetotalweightdetermined. 20、olumeiscalculatedinthefollowingway: V m = 0 HO 2 r (1) where V isthevolumeofthemeasuringcylinder,incubiccentimetres; m 0 isthemassofwater,ingrams; r H 2 O isthedensityofwater,ingramspercubiccentimetre,atthemeasuringtemperature. MethodB Thevolumeiscalculatedbymeasuringtheinternaldimensionsofthecylind

Itisrecommendedthatthevolumeofthemeasuringcylinderbecheckedregularly.ISO91362:1999(E) 4 3.3 Overspilltray The overspill tray witha flat bottomservesasacollectorforoverflowingmicrogrit.Themeasuringcylinderisplaced inthedriptray. 3.4 Shield The shield is a glass cylinder of ap

22、proximately 2 mmwallthicknesswithadiameterofapproximately11 0 mmanda heightofapproximately20 0 mm;therecessforthechannelis approximately125 mm 365mm ,permittingafree fallforthemicrogrittobetested. 4Procedure 4.1Numberofobservations Foreachmicrogrittobetested,thebulkdensityshallbedeterminedfromthrees

23、amplestakenfromonesampling. 4.2Samplepreparation Themicrogrittobetestedshallbedriedfor 1 hatatemperatureof110 C,andthencooledtoroomtemperature beforemeasuring. 4.3Procedure Thetestshallpreferablytakeplaceatanairtemperatureof(23 2) C,andarelativehumidityof(50 6)%. Themicrogrittobetestedisplaced,inits

24、driedform ,inthefunnelofthemeteringdevice.Themeteringspeed, determined by the amplitudeofvibrationofthebuiltinvibratorincombinationwiththedistancefromtheloweredge ofthefunneltothebottomofthevibrationchannel,isregulatedaccordingtothegrainsinsuchawaythat anevenuninterruptedandregularstreamflowsintothe

25、vibrationchannel,and thefillingtimeofthecylinderisbetween30sand90s. Beforeeachmeasurement,thetestconditionsshallbeverified. Themeasuringcylindershallbefilledinsuchawaythatthetestmateria lisheapedinthemiddle,2 cmto3 cm abovetherimofthemeasuringbeaker. The test material heaped above therimofthemeasuri

26、ngcylindershallberemovedusingastraightbladewiththe leadingedgeatanangleofapproximately45 totherimofthemeasuringbeaker(seeFigure2).
