Samples are Eurnished solely for guidance and information to the contractor. Variation from this speciEication may appear in the sample, in which case t

13、he specification shall govern. 3.2 First article. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2) before production is commenced, a finished beach pole with components shall be submitted, or made available to the contracting officer or his authorized representative for approval. The approval of the first artic

14、le authorizes the commencement of production, but does not relieve the contractor of responsibility for compliance with applicable provisions of the specification. The first article shall be manufactured by the contractor in the same facilities to be used for the manufacture of the produc tion i tem

15、s . 3.3 Materials. 3.3.1 Tubing. The upper and lower pole sections shall be made Eroin carbon stenechanical, but twelded, cold drawn, conforming to ASTM-A-512-79 and Drawing No. 71C5045A0000, Two sections of tubing are required for the beach pole. 3.3.2 Cap-clamp. The cap-clamp shalL he made of stee

16、l-strip, mild, No, 16 gage (0.065) comforming to the requirements on Drawing No. 71C5045A0001. One cap-clamp is required for the beach pole. As an alternate, an adjustable clamp (see 3.3.7) may be used in place of the cap-clamp. 3.3.3 Eye-bolt collar. The collar for the eye-bolt shall he made from c

17、arbon steel, mechanical, buttwelded, cold drawn, conforming to ASTM-A-513-79 and Drawing No. 71C5045A0001. One collar for the eye bolt is required for the beach pbie. 3.3.4 Bushing. The bushing shall be made froin steel, round, cold finished, AISI-C1018 conforming to FED-STD-66, and the requirements

18、 on Drawing No. 71C5045A0001, One bushing is required for the beach pole. 3.3.5 Hinge bar (upper and lower). The hinge bar for the lower and upper sections of the pole shall be made from steel, round, cold finished, AISI-C1018 conforming to FED-STD-66 and the requirements on Drawing No. 71C5045A0001

19、. One lower and one upper hinge bar are required for the beach pole. As an alternate to welding the upper hinge bar to upper tube, they may be asseinbled by drilling a 3/16-inch hole, 3/4-inch from upper end of tube (part No. 2) and inserting a 3/16 x 1 5/32-inch long semitubular rivet. 3.3.4 Hinge-

20、strip. The hinge-strip connecting the upper hinge bar to the lOk7er hinge bar shall be made from steel strip, hot rolled, conforming to the requirements on Drawing No. 71C5045A0001. The adjustable clamps shall be made from steel strip, mild, No. 16 gage (0.065) conforming to the requirements on Drawing No. 71C5045A0001. Five adjustable clamps are required for the beach

22、 pole. 3.3.5 Stud. The stud shall be made Erom steel, round, cold finished AISI-C1018 conforming to FED-STD-66 and the requirements on Drawing No. 71C5045A0000. One stud is required or the beach pole. 3.3.9 Saddle plate, The saddle plate shall be made froin steel, mild conforming to the requirements

23、 on Drawing No. 71C5045A0000, One saddle plate is required or the beach pole. 3.3.10 Stake. The stakes shall be made from steel, hot rolled AISI-C1015 coming to FED-STD-66 and the requirements on Drawing No. 71C5045A0000. A closed lance may be used in place of the link (part No. 23) on each stake fo

24、r attaching the chain. Three stakes are required or the beach pole (one short stake welded to the saddle plate and two longer stakes for supporting the pole). - 3.3.11 Snap, hook, swivel eye. The hooks shall be made from steel, galvanized finish, contormina to requirements on Drawing No. - - 71C5045

25、A0000. Six snap hooks are required for the beach pole. 3.3.13, Eye bolt with square nut. The eye bolt and square nut shall be made from steel galvanized finish, conforming to requirements on Drawing No. 71C504A0001. One eye bolt with square nut is required for the beach pole. As an alternate, a 1/4-

26、inch-diameter, round eye bolt nay be used. This will necessitate the drill.ing of a 1/4-inch hole through the upper pole in lieu of a 7/32-inch hole. In addition, this hole will be drilled from the same side as the 1/4-inch hinge pin hole at the lower end of the upper pole section, The eye bolt, wit

27、h nut, may be packaged separately with cables attached in lieu of being assembled on the pole section. 3.3.13 Screw with square nut. The machine screw with square nut shall be made from steel, galvanized finish conforming to requirements on Drawing No. 71C5045A0001, Five screws with square nuts are

28、required for the beach pole. 3.3.14 Hinge pins. 3.3.14.1 Upper pin. The hinge pin for attaching the hinge strap to the upper hinge bar shall be a roll pin, 3/16-inch diameter by 1-inch long. 3.3.14.2 Lower pin. The hinge pin for attaching the hinge strap to the lower hinge bar shall be a roll pin, 3

29、/16-inch diameter by 3/4-inch long. 3.3.15 Wire rope. The preformed wire rope shall be made from steel, galvanized finish having 6 strands of 7 wires in right regular lay around a fiber core with a minimum breaking strength of 1200 pounds. The diameter shall be 1/8 inch. Two 17-foot lengths are requ

The clamps for the wire rope shall be made from aluminum and shall be swaged sleeves, 314 inch to 1-1

31、14 inches long to fit the 1/8-inch wire rope. Two clamps are required for the beach pole. 3.3.17 Connectors. The connectors or the wire rope shall be made from steel, having a galvanized finish similiar or equal to the “Stanley (pull tite clamp)“ as illustrated on Drawing No. 71C5045A0000. The conne

32、ctors, when assembled to the wire rope, shall withstand, without failure or damage, a load equal to the breaking strength of the wire rope. Two connectors are required for the beach pole. 3.3.18 Chain. The chain for attaching the connector to the stakes shall be steel single jack chain, 1/8-inch dia

33、meter links, hiving a galvanized finish. beach pole. TWO lengths, 6 2112 inches, are required or the 3.3.19 - Link. The link for attaching the chain to the stake shall be made from steel, 3/16-inch round, AISL-Cl018 conforming to FED-STD-66. The ends, when set in place, shall he peened and welded as

34、 illustrated on Drawing No. 71C5045AOOOO. One link is required for each of the long stakes. As an alternate, a closed lance may be cut in each stake, 3/4 inch from the upper end (see 3.3.10). 3.4 Design. The beach pole shall he the U. S. Marine Corps design shown on Drawing Nos. 71C5045A0000 and 71C

35、5045A0001 except as modified by this specification. The pole shall be collapsible, equipped with cap collar (or a clamp), clamps, guy wires, hooks, etc., or attaching the panel marker and erecting the pole, but does not include the panel marker. 3.5 Construction. The construction of all components a

36、nd the assembly of the beach pole covered herein shall conform to the requirements of this specification and Drawing Nos. 71C5045A0000 and 71C504A0001. 3.6 Finish. The hinge strip and hinge bars shall have a cadmium plated finish; the wire ropes shall be steel with a galvanized finish; wire rope cla

37、mps, eye bolt with nut and machine screw with nut shall be cadmium or zinc. coated and not enameled finish. All other steel parts shall have a honderized, or equal, undercoating and a finish coat of enamel, color forest green lusterless conforming to MIL-E-52798. 3.7 Workmanship. The finished and as

38、sembled beach pole shall conform to the quality and grade of product established by this specification. The occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable quality levels .( AQL). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 5 Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitted

IJnless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible or the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the c

40、ontract or order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, iinless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such

41、inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Certificate of compliance. When certificates of compliance are permitted, the Government reserves the right to check test such items to determine the validity of the certification. 4.2 Classifi

42、cation of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: First article inspection (see 4.4). Quality conformance inspection (see 4.5). 4.3 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified herein, all inspections shall be performed in accordance with the provisio

43、ns set forth in MIL-STD-105. 4.4 First article inspection. When first article is required, inspection shall be performed on a completely fabricated beach pole with components for conformance to all provisions of this specification. 4.5 Quality conformance inspection. 4.5.1 Testing of components. In

44、accordance with 4.1 above, components and materials shall be tested in accordance with all requirements of referenced specifications, drawings and standards, unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified or qualified in this specification or applicable purchase documents. The supplier shall furnish a

45、 certiEicate of compliance for the material and finish requirements described in this specification. 4.5.2 In-process inspection. Inspection shall be made during the manufacture of the end item to ascertain that the following operation is performed as specifed herein. The Government reserves the rig

46、ht to exclude from consideration for acceptance any material or service for which in-process inspection has indicated nonconformance. The sample unit shall be one completely fabricated beach pole and components. 4.5.3.1 General defects. General defects shall he classified as

49、uired. Weight Gross/net weight exceeds requirements. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging requirements. Packaging shall be level A or commercial as specified (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Level A. All uncoated metal-surfaces of the beach pole and components shall be coated with a thin film, hard drying preservative conforming to grade 1 of MIL-C-16173. Components shall be secured to the beach pole, in a manner designed to restrict movement, by use of reinforced pressure
