FOREWORD IT (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations Specialized Agency in the fiel

8、d of telecommunications. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (IT-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. Some 179 member countries, 84 telecom operating entities, 145 scientific and industrial organizations and 38 international organizations participate in ITU-T which is the body which sets

9、 world telecommunications standards (Recommendations). The approval of Recommendations by the Members of ITU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1 (Helsinki, 1993). In addition, the World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, ap

10、proves Recommendations submitted to it and establishes the study programme for the following period. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. The text of ITU-T Recommendation X.750 was ap

25、 Summary An Operations Systems (OS) can only interwork with another OS or Network Element (NE) if it has knowledge about the precise management information and management message types the other OS or NE is capable of supporting for management interactions. There are many ways this knowledge can be

26、obtained and inserted into an OS or NE products software. This Recommendation provides the means to specify knowledge management information and messages, that allow for the “on line” transfer from one system to another the specific details of this information. The administration of a management net

27、work will be made more efficient by the use of systems that have this management knowledge capability because for example: transfer of this knowledge is provided using standard X.700 knowledge management messages thus precluding the need for vendors, who require their products to interwork, to come

28、to some local agreement for OS1 systems management based messages, during operational service checks can be made about the capability of an OS or NE; and there is a standard way to augment the management information and messages that an OS or NE; and there is a standard way to augment the management

29、 information and messages that an OS or NE can support. An alternative to the use of X.700 messages is the use of X.500 Directory services and in support of this, this Recommendation I International Standard defines Directory entries to hold this information. iv ITU-T Rec. 31、Management knowledge management function. The Management knowledge management function is a Systems Management function which may be used by an application process in a centralized or decentralized management environment to interact for the purpose of systems management, as defined by the OS1 Manage

32、ment framework, CCITT Rec. X.700 and ISOAEC 7498-4. This Recommendation I International Standard defines a function which consists of generic definitions and services. This function is positioned in the application layer of the OS1 reference model, ITU-T Rec. X.200 I ISO/IEC 7498-1, and is defined a

33、ccording to the model provided by ITU-T Rec. X.207 I ISOAEC 9545. The role of systems management functions is described by CCITT Rec. X.701 I ISOAEC 10040. This Recommendation I Intemational Standard: - - - identifies the set of requirements satisfied by the function; provides a model for the behavi

34、our of management knowledge objects; specifies the management requirements of the function and how these are realized by specification of managed objects and their behaviour or by specification of Directory objects; specifies the mapping of these services onto the CMIS services; specifies the abstra

35、ct syntax of the parameters of the MAPDUs that will be used to refer to managed objects and their characteristics. - - This Recommendation 1 International Standard does not: - define the nature of any implementation intended to provide the Management knowledge management function; speciS, the manner

36、 in which management is to be accomplished by the user of the Management knowledge management function; define the nature of any interactions which result in the use of the Management knowledge management function; speciQ the services necessary for the establishment, normal and abnormal release of a

37、 management association; define the interactions which result by the simultaneous use of several management functions; define connection establishment or authorization requirements for the use of these functions or for any associated activity; preclude the definition of further management knowledge
