2、ometimes difficult to find the precise meaning of an abbreviation or acronym appearing in that Recommendation 430 is concerned with unit symbols, UNANIMOUSLY RECOMMENDS 1. that with the exception of abbreviations frequently used in telecommunications, abbreviations and acronyms should not be used in

3、 CCIR texts.unless they make the text easier to read, i.e. when an abbreviation may be used several times in the same text; 2. that, with the exception of abbreviations frequently used in telecommunications, the first time an abbreviation is used in a particular text its full meaning should be given

4、, either in the body ofthe text or in a footnote; 3. of each Volume or in a separate fascicle; that an alphabetical list of abbreviations used in the CCIR Volumes should be published either at the end 4. that for the abbreviations most frequently used in telecommunications, the administrations, CCIR

5、 Secretariat and other participants in the work of the CCIR should as far as possible use the abbreviations contained in Appendix I with the meaning indicated therein; 5. , that for abbreviations specific to certain fields, the administrations, CCIR Secretariat and other partici- pants in the work o

6、f the CCIR should use the abbreviations which appear in the publications listed in Appendix II. APPENDIX I I ABBREVIATIONS AND INITIALS FOR TERMS COMMONLY USED IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS The abbreviations are those which are most frequently used in the texts of the CCIR and the CCITT and in the working l

7、anguages of the ITU. Annex I consists of the list of abbreviations, initials and terms in the three working languages. These are classified in the various fields of telecommunications and include a serial number for each term. . Annex II comprises a complete list of the abbreviations and initials in

8、 alphabetical order and the corresponding serial numbers given in Annex I. Note - An alphabetical list of abbreviations and initials used in the CCIT Volumes is included in Fascicle 1.3 “Terms and definitions” of the CCITT.
