18、ical installationsfor traction power supply and equipment essential to operate a railway- in open air;- in covered areas;- in tunnels;- within enclosures placed in above areas.Escalators, lifts, fire protection, lighting in tunnels and on platforms, ticket machines, ventilationsystems and non-essent

19、ial functions are not included.Such influences include altitude, temperature and humidity, air movement, rain, snow, hail, ice,sand, solar radiation, lightning, pollution, vibration, shocks and EMC.This standard does not specify the test requirements for equipment.In case of environmental conditions

20、 not covered by the standard the data to be adopted for aspecific project should be clearly stipulated when preparing a specification.This standard is not intended to apply to cranes, installations in underground mines, suspendedcable cars and funicular railways.Nuclear radiation is excluded.Signall

Otherwise the classmen

32、tioned in the product standard shall apply where available. Where no other specificationsare specified, the normal requirements in this standard shall be used. Installations shallfunction, or be capable of functioning, under all specified conditions.The environmental conditions are considered for no

33、rmal operation. More severe conditions maybe specified for the equipment to withstand, when not operating, without suffering damage. Anexample of such a condition is wind velocity high enough to cause dewirements but not tearingdown the overhead contact line.Microclimates surrounding components may

34、need special requirements which are covered byproduct standards.Special conditions are classified with a suffix X.The severities specified are those which have a low probability of being exceeded. All specifiedvalues are either maximum or minimum limits. These values can be reached, but do not occur

35、permanently. Depending on the situation there are different frequencies of occurrence related toa certain period of time. Such frequencies of occurrence have not been included in thisstandard, but should be considered for any environmental parameter, if relevant. In this casethey shall be specified.

36、4.2 AltitudeAltitude related to sea level is relevant for air pressure. Air pressure shall be considered inaccordance with HD 478.2.3.The different classes of altitude above sea level in open air at which the equipment shallperform as specified are given in Table 1.BS EN 50125-2:2002EN 50125-2:2002

38、ty4.3.1 GeneralFor air temperature and humidity in open air, the climates according to Table 2 of HD 478.2.1shall be used, excluding the first and the last two climates.These values are illustrated in Figure 2 to Figure 7 of HD 478.2.1.For weather-protected areas, information is given in EN 60721-3-

39、3.Different values depending on national requirements are possible. These values are to beagreed separately between purchaser and supplier, as appropriate to the local conditions.In principle, air temperatures are measured in the shade.The values of humidity can be 100 %.4.3.2 Special conditionsWhen

40、 considering the temperature of an object, the effects of thermal radiation from the ground,or due to the proximity of other large objects, has to be taken into account.In open airThe temperatures in railway surroundings, e.g. during summer on large expanses of ballastsuch as are to be found in larg

41、e stations, can be higher than outside the area itself.In covered areasMaximum temperatures in covered areas should be not less than those specified for open air.Special attention should be given to installations under transparent roofs which are subject tosolar radiation. Conditions depend on the c

42、over material.In cubiclesDepending on the cubicle, the maximum ambient temperature should be specified up to 30 Khigher than those specified in open air .BS EN 50125-2:2002EN 50125-2:2002 (E)- 8 -Temperatures inside a cubicle shall be measured in free space away from the vicinity of theheat emitting

43、 elements. Cubicles in covered areas or with other screening above should havemodified values. Temperature and humidity in cubicles are a function of the design of theenclosure and will depend on the ventilation arrangements.If the equipment is to be installed in a controlled climatic environment an

44、d is required to operateonly under these conditions, the temperature range shall be agreed between purchaser andsupplier.The effect of condensation and also temperature changes and extremes of temperature shallnot lead to any malfunction or failure.4.4 Air movementCalculations of air movement and ai

45、r pressure as used in special national standards.4.4.1 WindWind velocity is defined in metres per second (m/s) and should be referred either- to a height of 10 m above ground, or- to a height of 500 m above ground (gradient velocity).The averaging period is 10 min and the reference values have a yea

46、rly probability of occurrenceof 0,02 (equivalent to a return period of 50 years). For other probabilities the correspondingwind velocities can be taken from Figure 1 of ENV 1991-2-4.Wind action on structures is greatly influenced by details of the local landscape, tall buildingsand height above the

47、ground. The greater the roughness of the ground surface, the more thewind action close to this surface is reduced; thus there may be considerable differencesbetween wind near the ground surface and that at greater heights above the ground surface.Wind action depending on the surface is classified in

48、to four categories. Relatively open terrainwith trees and other obstacles is most frequently experienced in Central Europe and isrecommended as the basis for reference wind velocities.Variation of the 10 min mean values with height h can be calculated byg97g247g248g246g231g232g230g611010hhvvwhereg11
