L 4.1 Basic terms For the purposes of this standard, the following denitions apply 4.1.12 recuperative heat excharage Heat transfer from the primary fluid to a secondary fluid, either direct through a wall or indirect through 4.1.1fluid an intermediate medium. transfer of thermal energy (heat).
