2、itary Specification ML-P-20664. This commercial item description covers Planimeters, Polar, Compensating, used for measuring areas of a plane figure by tracing or optically observing its boundary lines. Salient Characteristics: Design: The planimeter shall be of the compensating polar type. The plan

3、imeter shall consist of two principal parts: a. The tracer arm which carries the tracing point and recording carriage with measuring wheel. length of not less than 6 inches to enable setting the recording carriage vernier to hundredths ac any scale within the range of the instrument. The tracer need

4、le shall have an adjustable point, and be provided with a fingertip guider at the outer end of the tracer arm. The arm shall be graduated for an effective b. The pole arm shall be adjustable from approximately 6 inches to 13 inches and have an engraved scale and vernier for settings when the instrum

5、ent is used with the pole inside a figure. The instrument constant can be adjusted to a round number for any setting of the recording carriage. Graduation: The graduations on the tracer arm and pole arm shall be machine divided and shall be spaced not more than 0.5 millimeter (mm) when the metric sy

6、stem is used, or 0.025 inch when the decimal inch system is used. Area Coverage: The planimeter shall measure the area within a circle having a 16 inch radius when the pole is within the circle and shall measure the area of a circle 12 inches in diameter when the pole is outside the circle. Testing

The case shall have a hinged cover and a fastener, Accuracy: The instrument shall check the area engraved on the testing

9、 rule and vernier units indicated on the graphs within 1.0 percent. Material: Corrosion resisting metal. The contractor shall furnish certification or Government approval that the product offered to the Government meets the sa

19、lient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product as the manufacturers current product offered by the contractor in the commercial marketplace for at least one year

20、 preceding the solicitation, conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such Small business. A small business that cannot meet the certification-of- commercial-item re

21、quirement of this document, may make an offer under this solicitation; and, if such small business is the apparent successful offeror, the Government may require the small business to submit a sample planimeter. polar compensating planimeter may be evaluated for this solicitation if time to contract
