5、rs, Vertical Lifelines, and RailsDecember 2003(Replaces p. 9, August 2002) 96.3.1.3 Panic Grab PerformanceAn additional drop test shall be conducted with each specimen in accordance with Clauses 6.3.2.1.2through 6.3.2.1.5, while the device is being held beyond its non-engaged position (ie, fully ope
6、ned). This shall be accomplished by utilizing a nylon cable tie secured around the device, to stimulate aworkers holding the device during a fall (see Figure 5).Note: Cable tie specifications: weather-resistant cable tie, PLT5S-CO; 450 mm long and 4.8 mm wide; 1.3 mm thick;loop tensile strength of 2
7、22 N. See Military Specification MIL-S-23190.6.3.1.4 Residual Static StrengthImmediately following completion of the dynamic strength test (Clause 6.3.1.1.2.2), the fall arrester,lifeline, and/or fixed rail shall be subjected to an additional force of 2 kN, by adding 200 kg to the testweight for a t
8、otal of 300 kg, for 10 minutes. The fall arrester shall be loaded in the position in which itstopped on the lifeline or rail. The maximum slippage allowed is 100 mm from the arrest position.6.3.2 Class MDP Fall Arresters6.3.2.1 Dynamic Strength and Performance6.3.2.1.1 Three specimens of each fall a
9、rrester shall be tested with each type or size of lifeline specified for use withthat device. With rope lifelines, a new line shall be used for each test. Failure of the device to meet thetest requirements on any of the tests run shall be a cause for rejection.6.3.2.1.2 Each fall arrester shall be t
10、ested using the integral lanyard supplied and with the test wire-rope lanyarddescribed in Clause 6.2.2.6.3.2.1.2.1 Dynamic Performance TestThe fall arrester shall be tested using the connecting linkage supplied. If no connecting linkage is supplied with the fall arrester, the test shall be performed
11、 with a 200 mm long Class 1 connector (seeCSA Z259.12). The test weight shall be raised above the fall arrester for a total free-fall distance of400 mm.6.3.2.1.2.2 Dynamic Strength TestThe fall arrester shall be tested using the test wire-rope lanyard described in Clause 6.2.2. The testweight shall
12、be raised above the fall arrester for a total free-fall distance of 1200 mm.6.3.2.1.3 The test equipment shall be set up as shown in Figure 2, with the fall-arresting mechanism at such aheight that the test weight will not touch the floor in a successful simulated fall. The fall arrester shall beatt
13、ached to the lifeline. The lifeline shall be fastened to an independent anchor point at least 3 m abovethe floor level.6.3.2.1.4 The test weight shall be raised to a height above the fall arrester and at a horizontal distance of not morethan 0.3 m from the fall arrester such that the total free-fall
14、 distance of the weight is the greatest.6.3.2.1.5 If the device may be oriented on a lifeline in different ways, it shall be tested in all orientations, unless thefall arrester is marked as specified in Clause 7.1(d).Z259.2.1-98 Canadian Standards AssociationDecember 200310 (Replaces p. 10, August 2

17、engthImmediately following completion of the dynamic performance test (Clause 6.3.2.1.2.1), the fall arresterand the lifeline shall be subjected to an additional force of 2 kN, by adding 200 kg to the test weight fora total of 300 kg, for 10 min. The fall arrester shall be loaded in the position in
18、which it stopped on thelifeline. The maximum slippage allowed is 100 mm from the arrest position.6.3.3 Test EvaluationAll fall arresters shall be carefully examined for conformance with the test requirements; limiteddeformation shall not constitute failure of the device.6.3.4 Proof Load Test (from C
19、SA Standard CAN/CSA-Z259.1, Clause 8.3)The metallic connecting linkage component shall be subjected to an 11 kN load maintained for aminimum of 2 s.6.3.5 Low-Temperature Test (from CSA Standard CAN/CSA-Z259.1, Clause 8.4)6.3.5.1 ConditioningThe metallic connecting linkage component shall be stored f
20、or a minimum of 16 h at a temperature of35 5C.6.3.5.2 Tension TestThe specified load shall be applied within 2 min of removal from low-temperature storage. Proceduresand loads shall be as in Clause 6.3.4.6.3.6 Corrosion Test (from CSA Standard CAN/CSA-Z259.1, Clause 8.5)The metallic connecting linka
21、ge component shall be salt-spray tested in accordance with ASTMStandard B 117, with an exposure of 24 h followed by 1 h drying and then an additional exposure of 24 h.7. 22、nch on all fall arresters:(a) manufacturers name or logo;(b) Class AD, ADP, AS, MDP, or FRL;(c) type(s) and size(s) of lifeline/rigid section with which the device may be used;(d) an arrow, permanently stamped, etched or cast onto the fall arrester, indicating the up position onthe device, relative
23、to the support, unless the device can function properly in any possible orientation;(e) model number, if applicable;(f) lot, serial number, or date of manufacture;(g) mark of a certification organization accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and theCSA Standard designation; and Canadia
