18、 Examination. The examinations listed in this specification for Classification of Defects shall be performed on inspection lots as defined in 4,4 -1 of this specification . a. Sampling plans. Unless otherwise specified in the Classification of Defects and Tests Tables, sampling plans and proceaures

19、for maior and minor defects shall be in accordance with RIL-STD-105, Inspection Level II . 4.4.3 festinq. Testing is described in the First Article and Quality Conformance Inspection tables. 4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment require to perform the inspections and tests prescribed

20、in this specification is identif ie- in the “Paragraph Reference/Inspection kethoa” colunin in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1, and the test method paragraphs (see 4.5). All inspection and test equipnient shall be calibrated in accordance with MIL-W-63150. The contractcr shall submit for

21、approval inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See 6.3 herein. 4 .5 kethods of inspection . 4.5.1 Performance test. The Universal Boresight Kit (UBK) shall be tested for compliance with the specified performance requirements. performance requirement or evidences

22、degradation of its operational performance shall be classed defective. Test equipment and procedures shall be satisfactory to the contracting officer (see 4 .4 -4 . Any UBK which fails to comply with the specified 4.5.2 Salt spray test. Samples shall be selected from each protective finished lot and

23、 subjected to the salt spray test in accorciance kith the proceaures specified in ASTM B 117, Unless otherwise speciiie on the applicable drawing the minimum exposure time shall be one and one half (1 1/21 hours using a 5% sodium chloride solution. Rejection shall be in accordance with the applicabl

24、e protective finish specification. 4.5.3 Samples shall be selected from each heat treatment batch (see Notej and subfecteu to this test. If any part fails to comply with the requirement specified on the applicable drawing,. the part shall be classe defective. The hardness test shall be performed in

25、accordance with the procedure specified in ASTM E 18. Each he&t treat batch shall remain segregated until completion of all hardness tests. - luote: A heat-treatment batch shall be defined as parts that have been heat-treated at the same time in the same furnace and quench batch for each of all phas

MIL-T-63531 1OW 777770b 0351735 b W 4.5.4 Environmental characteristics (first article inspection only. 4 -5 -4 -1 Temperature-humidity . The Universal Bo

27、resight Kit (UBKI shall be subfecte to temperature-humidity testing as follows : a. With the temperature nonoperating, adjust chamber temperature at +160F with uncontrolled humidity and stabilize UBK. Maintain this condition for not less than 4 hours. b. Return chamber to room ambient (temperature a

28、nd humidity). Upon stabilization of UBK, operate UBK as specified in 4 -5 .l. 4.5.4.2 Salt foq. The UBK shall be subjected to the test of Method 509.1 of MIL-STD-810. Operation of the UBK shall not be require6 and failure criteria shall be limited to corrosion of tinishes and metals only. Such corro

29、sion shall be defined as visible degradation of the UBK surfaces that can be attributed to flakey, pitted, blistered, or otherwise loosened finish or metal surface. 4.5.4.3 Sand and dust, The UBK shall be sub2ected to the test of Method 510.1 of MIL-STD-810, Procedure 1, except temperature to be t73

30、OF and relative humidity of less than 22 percent. Air velocity to be 1750 t250 feet per minute and dust concentration at 0.3 +0.2 mx/ft3 and maintain these conditions for 6 hours. After 6-hoUrSJ turn off air velocity and dust feed and stabilize. Perform operation test (4.5.1: before any cleaning is

31、performed . 4.5.4.4 Explosive atmosphere. The UBK shall be subjected to the test of Method 511.1 of MIL-STD-810, Procedure I, except test to be liniitea to altitude of ground level, 4.5 -4 -5 Rain. Method 506 -1, Procedure I , of MIL-STD-810 shall apply. Durinc, each 30 minute rain period, the wind

32、shall be maintained for not less than 15 minutes commencing 5 minutes after the start of the period as specified in the procedures. The UBK sholl be operated as specified in- 4.5.1 during the last 10 minutes of the 30-minute period . 4.5.5 Proof test (first article inspection only). When specifie in

33、 the contract (see 6.2) two (2) UBKs shall be forwarded to the site specified by the contracting agency and boresight an accepted Universal Turret Subsystem. The UBK shall be testea for compliance with 4.5.1. The UBK shall function in accordance to the intent of the design and with no evidence of ml

34、function and satisfactory to the procuring agency. 35、ticle inspection only). 4.6.1 Universal Boresight Kit (UBK). A sample of 2 UBKs, randomly selected, shall be tested for interchangeability using the test method specified in 4.6.3. UBKs taken for interchange- ability testing shall have been found satisfactory in all other examinations and tests. The

36、 2 UBKs shall comply with the applicable specification functioning test of 4.5.1, before and after the interchange of parts. It shall be the responsibility of the agency responsible for the test to inform the contracting officer by letter or other methods satisfactory to the contracting officer, whe

37、n selective assembly has become necessary. Statement shall contain as a minimum, the contractors name and FSCM, contract number, parts involved in the selective fit, conditions of parts and rationale for action taken. No hand refinement of parts shall be permissible without approval by the contracti

38、ng officer. No malfunctions shall be allowed in the functioning tests. Failure of drive assembly in the interchangeability test shall cause retest or rejection of the represented lot. At the discretion of the Government representative, an interchangeability retest may be allowed without reconditioni

39、ng the lot. Failure during the retest shall cause rejection of the represented lot subject to reconditioning and further test as a reconditioned lot. A sample of 4 UBKs from each retest or reconditioned lot shall be tested using the same procedure described below. 4.6.2 Repair parts. At least 2 part

40、s from each inspection lot of concurrent repair parts shall be subjected to the inter- changeability test specified in 4.6.3. Failure of any part to meet the interchangeability requirements shall be cause for rejection of the represented lot, subject to reconditioning and further test as a reconditi

41、oned lot. A sample consisting of double the number of parts used in the original test shall be trested from each reconditioned lot using the test methods specified above. 4.6.3 Test method for interchangeability. UBKs shall be tested by disassembling and then reassembling the parts specified below.

42、Parks shall be disassembled from the UBKs and identical parts placed together and mixed. 44、4.6.4 Repair parts. Concurrent repair parts shall be tested by disassembling a UBK previously tested 4.6.3 and then reassembling them using the concurrent repair parts. No hand refinement of parts will be allowed and the assembled UBK shall operate and function as intended. This test may be performe

45、d independently of the UBK interchangeability testing specified in 4.6.1 and at more frequent intervals using accepted UBKs taken from current production. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation, packaging, packing and marking. Universal boresight kits shall be preserved, packaged, packed and marked in accord

46、ance with the requirements of the preservation and Packaging Data Sheet P11830730. 5.1.1 Spare parts or replacement parts. Spare parts or replacement parts shall be cleaned, preserved, packaged and packed as specified in the contract or order. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The UBK covered by this speci

47、fication is intended for use with Gun, automatic, 20MM: M197 on Armament Subsystem, Helicopter, 20MM: M97E1 and M97E2. 6.2 Ordering data.
