12、e National Electrical Code (locations other than those identified as “Hazardous” or“Classified Locations”).1.3 These requirements cover IBP for installation above ground for indoor use and outdoor use, in areaswhich are accessible to qualified persons only.2 Components2.1 A component of a product co
13、vered by this Outline shall comply with the requirements for thatcomponent and shall be used in accordance with its recognized rating and other limitations of use.2.2 A component is not required to comply with a specific requirement that:a) Involves a feature or characteristic not required in the ap
14、plication of the component in theproduct covered by this Outline, orb) Is superseded by a requirement in this Outline.3 Units of Measurement3.1 Values stated without parentheses are the requirement. 16、 The following terms and definitions apply as related to this Outline.5.1.1 AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE The temperature of the surrounding air that comes in contact withequipment.5.1.2 INSULATED BUS PIPE (IBP) A bus system that consists of a solid or hollow conductor withinsulation wound from untreated
17、paper and subsequently impregnated with a curable resin.5.1.3 CAPACITIVE GRADING A method by which desired voltage grading is obtained by anarrangement of conducting or semiconducting layers incorporated into the insulating material.5.1.4 CLEARANCE The distance between two conductive parts along a s
18、tring stretched the shortestway between these conductive parts.5.1.5 CONNECTION BOX An enclosure intended to surround the point where the IBP system isconnected to other electrical equipment, such as switchgear, to provide protection against unintentionalcontact with live parts, and to provide some
19、degree of protection against environmental contaminantswhen closely coupled with the connected equipment.5.1.6 COVERING A surrounding cover or housing used to protect the contained conductor and preventaccidental contact with live parts.5.1.7 CREEPAGE DISTANCE The shortest distance along the surface
20、 of an insulating materialbetween two conductive parts.5.1.8 FIELD WIRING TERMINAL A portion of the IBP intended for connection to cable(s) at theinstallation site.5.1.9 INDOOR USE An installation of IBP where the entire IBP system is exposed only to indooratmospheric conditions.5.1.10 MONTHLY NORMA
21、L MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE A temperature computed by averaging themaximum temperature for each day of the month, and averaging this number over 30 years.Note: The monthly normal maximum temperature for many locations in the United States can be obtained from National Centers forEnvironment Information. 24、 IBP are joined together, to provide protection against unintentional contact with live parts, andto provide some degree of protection against environmental contaminants.5.1.14 TEMPERATURE RISE The difference between the measured temperature and the ambient airtemperature.5.1.15 TERMINATION A device
