SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers requirements for one type a
2、nd size of survival equipment vest designated as Type SV-2A. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this specification to the extent speci- fied herein. 5、-2A (When requesting any of the applicable documents, refer to both title and num- ber. Aii requeste should be made via the cognizant Govermerit quality assurance representative. Copies of this specification and other unclassified specifications, standards, except for the hook and pile fastener tape
6、s, shall be seared, prior to the fabrication of the vest, to prevent fraying. No sharp edges shall be formed. The cut edges of .he nylon duck cloth shall be overedged stitched (serged), 3.3.2 Seams and stitching -All the seams used in the fabrication of the vest shall conform to the applicable drawi
7、ngs. Except for the serging (overedge) and zig-zag stitching, the stitching in the vest shall be accomplished with Stitch Type 301. The 2 Licensed by Information Handling ServicesI overedge stitching shall be accomplished with Stitch Type 502, 503, 504, or 505, and the zig-zag stitching shall be acc
8、omplished with Stitch Type 304. The width of the overedge and zig-zag stitching shall be approximately 1/4 inch. All the stitch types shall conform to FED-STD-751 and shall contain 6 to 8 stitches per inch. All the seam edges shall be properly forced out and shall not contain any folds. No seam shal
9、l be twisted, puckered, or pleated and no part of the vest shall be caught in an unrelated operation or seam. All the thread ends shall be trimmed to a length of 1/4 to 3/8 inch and except for the webbing, cord, and tape, excluding the binding tape, no raw or cut edge shall be visible on the exterio
10、r of the vest. The cut edges of the binding tape shall be turned under. 3.3.2.1 Sewing - Each row of stitching shall be straight and parallel to the seam edge. The straightness of the stitching, in any row, shall be maintained within a tolerance of plus or minus 1/32 inch. The ends of the stitching
11、that are not caught in ther seams or stitching shall be securely backstitched, by overlapping on them- selves, for at least 1/2 inch. Thread breaks, skips, and run-Offs shall be over- stitched not less than one inch. The thread tension shall be maintained so that there shail not be any loose or tigh
12、t stitching and the lock shall be embedded in the materials sewn together. . 3.3.2.2 Bartacking - The number of stitches per bartack shall be based proportionally on 1/2 inch long bartack containing a minimum of 28 stitches. The location and length of the bartacks shall conform to the applicable dra
13、wings. 3.4 - Color - The color of the vest and the components shail be as specified in the applicable drawings. The main panels of the vest shall approximate each other in shade. 3.5 Dimensions - The dimensions of the assembled vests, width of the seams and hems, and the dimensions and location of t
14、he components shall conform to the applicable drawings, when determined as specified in 4.5.2. 3.6 Marking - Unless otherwise specified, the markings on the vest shall conform to 67A100D2 and shall be legible and durable black letters and numerals which shall be thoroughly dry, prior to packaging. 15、he marking ink shall conform to TT-1-542. 3.7 Workmanship - After completion of the final assembly, the vests shall be thoroughly cleaned and all loose thread, lint, and foreign matter shall be removed. The rivets, grommets, and snap fasteners shall be clinched without dis- tortion, damage, splittin
16、g, or cutting of the leather, cloth, webbing, or tape, as applicable, The metal components shall not be misaligned nor contain any sharp edge, crack, dent, nick, burr, or sliver. The vests shall not contain any non-speci- fied hole, abraded area, tear, cut, mend, needle chew, spot, or stain. The ves
17、ts shall conform to the quality and grade of product established by this specification. 18、VISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of ail inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any ot
19、her facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspec- tions set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and s
20、ervices conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Classification of inspection - The examination and testing of the Type SV-2A survival equipment vests shall be classified as follows: (a) First article inspection - First article inspection consists of examinations and tests performed on samples which
21、are . representative of the production item after the award of a contract to determine that the productioi) item conforms to the requirements of this specification (see 3.1 and 4.3 through 4.3.2). ) Quality conformance inspection - Quality conformance inspec- tion consists of examinations and tests
22、performed on individual products or lots to determine conformance of the products or lots with the requirements set forth in this specification (see 4.4 through 4.4.1.2). 4.3 First article inspection - The first article inspection of the Type SV-BA survival equipment vests shall consist of examinati
23、ons and tests for all of the requirements of this specification. 4.3.1 First article samples - Unless otherwise specified, as soon as practicable after the award of the contract or order, the manufacturer shall submit three assembled vests. The samples shall be representative of the construction, wo
24、rkmanship, components, and materials to be used during production. When a contractor is in continuous production of these vests from contract to contract, submission of further first article samples on the new contract may be waived at the discretion of the procuring activity (see 6.2).
