SCOPE 1.1 Scope.
2、 This specification covers the requirements for the M119 Impulse Cartridge (see 6.1). 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Government documents. 2.1.1 Specifications and standards. The following specifications and standards form a part of this document to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise specifi
3、ed, the issues of these documents are those listed in the issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DODISS) and supplements thereto, cited in the solicitation (see 6.2). The primer shall conform to the applicable drawing and reference specification. Prior to assembly into a cartridge, the primer shall
7、 be visually examined in accordance with 4.6.2 and radiographically examined for defects as specified in 4.7.1. 0 3.4.2 Hardness. The hardness of each component part shall be in accordance with the applicable drawing (see 4.7.2). 3.4.3 Protective finish. The finish of each component part shall be in
8、 accordance with MIL-A-8625 and the applicable drawing (see 4.7.3). 3.5 Assembly. 3.5.1 Radiographic examination. Each cartridge assembly shall be radiographically examined for defects (see 4.7.4). 3.5.2 Airtightness. Each assembled cartridge shall exhibit no air leakage greater than 1 x lo4 standar
9、d cubic centimeters of air per second at a 14 psia pressure differential (see 4.7.5). 3.5.3 Vibration. The assembled cartridge shall withstand vibration as prescribed in MIL-STD-810, Method 514.3, Test Procedure I, Test Condition 1-3.2.5 without evidence of any disintegration of the primer, propella

The primer shall fire whe
11、n drop tested at an energy level of 60 inch-ounces in a sectioned cartridge void of igniter and propellant charge (see 4.7.8.1). 3.6.2 Cartridge performance. 3.6.2.1 Misfires. The cartridge shall not fail to fire. 3.6.2.2 Ballistics. The cartridge, when assembled into an acceptable M9, M13, or M19 T
12、hruster and fired at -60 to -70“F, 65 to 75“F, and 195 to 205“F, shall comply with the following requirements: a. Thruster M9 - shall propel a 50-pound mass horizontally against a resistive force of 800 pounds, minimum, for a stroke of 3.6 inches (minimum) to 3.8 inches (maximum). Time to complete t
13、hruster stroke shall not exceed 80 milliseconds. The thruster shall produce a bypass pressure of lo00 pounds per square inch (psi) minimum at the end of 42 inches of aircraft hose, size 4 Standard MS28741 when the stroke has reached a minimum of 3.6 inches. Ignition delay time (see 6.5.1) shall not
14、exceed 25 milliseconds. b. Thruster M13 - with the thruster connected to a 70-pound weight, the piston shall push the weight vertically or horizontally with a resistive load equal to the pull of gravity on a 70-pound weight and, in addition, shear a 2o00-pound shear pin during the first movement of
15、the weight. The thrust developed shall not exceed 5000 pounds. The thruster shall produce a bypass pressure of lo00 pounds per square inch minimum at the end of 6 feet of aircraft hose, size 4 in accordance with MIL-H-25579 and shall complete a piston stroke ranging from 2.76 inches minimum to 2.86
16、inches maximum. Time to complete thruster stroke shall not exceed 80 milliseconds. Ignition delay time shall not exceed 25 milliseconds. c. Thruster M19 - with the thruster connected to a 75-pound weight, the piston shall push the weight along a horizontal path of travel and the moving piston and we
17、ight shall overcome a resisting force of from 25 pounds at zero stroke to 500 pounds at 2.40 inches of stroke. The thrust developed shall not exceed 2500 pounds after an elapsed time of 16 milliseconds. The thruster shall produce a bypass pressure of loo0 pounds per square inch minimum at the end of
18、 a 13 %-foot length of aircraft hose, size 4 in accordance with MIL-H-25579 and shall complete a piston stroke ranging from 2.76 inches minimum to 2.86 inches maximum. Time to complete thruster stroke shall be 80 milliseconds maximum. Ignition delay time shall not exceed 25 milliseconds. 4 Provided

The thrusters shall be fired by a source delivering an output pressure of 700 + 25, - O pounds per square inch gage (psig) at the end of 15 feet of aircraft hose, MS28741-4, at 70
20、“ - t 5F. 3.7 Workmanship. Cartridges shall be free of cracks, splits, or other defects which might prevent proper mating with connecting parts or proper functioning of the device. 3.7.1 Metal defects. All components shall be free from cracks, splits, cold shuts, inclusions, porosity, or any similar
21、 defect. 3.7.2 Burr. No part shall have a burr which might interfere with the assembly or function of the item or which might be injurious to personnel handling the item. 3.7.3 Foreign matter. No part or assembly shall contain chips, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion, or other foreign matter. 4. QUALITY
22、 ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as speciked herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract oc purcha
23、se order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspecti
24、ons are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements (see 6.2). 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspect
