This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2000, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2000. Both methods are suitable for preparing samples for the determination of oxygen content, especially for oxygen contents 0,0050
15、YO. This standard is applicable to steels having a hardness of c 400 HBW 10/3000. 2 Normative reference This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference provisions from other publications. These normative references are cited at the appropriate places in the text and the publication

For dated references, subsequent amendments to or revisions of any of these publications apply to this European Standard only when incorporated in it by amendment or revision. IS0 14284 Steel and iron - Sampling and preparation of samples for the determination of chemical composition 3 Principle Samples for oxygen determination are machined to a suitable shape and size within the restrictions imposed by the instrument used. In order to ensure that the surface has the
