Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 chest of drawers (chiffonier)a chest of drawers withfour drawers. All four drawers may be of the same size.4. Ordering Information4.1 Orders for it

6、ems purchased under this specification shallinclude the following information:4.1.1 Quantity.4.1.2 Paint:4.1.2.1 ColorPurchaser shall pick from manufacturerssamples or submit sample chip of color desired.4.1.2.2 Manufacturers standard baked enamel will be fur-nished unless otherwise required and ind

7、icated by the pur-chaser.4.1.3 Options for Tops:4.1.3.1 Unless otherwise specified in the ordering docu-ments, the top supplied by the furniture manufacturer may be,at his option, Type I, II, III, or IV in accordance withSpecification F 826.4.1.3.2 Color or pattern of top covering material shall bes

8、pecified.4.1.4 Options for Drawers:4.1.4.1 Padlock eyes shall be furnished on each drawerwhen specified in ordering documents. This security device isnormally used in crew living spaces.4.1.4.2 Drawer locks shall be furnished when specified inordering documents. Master keying of drawer locks will no

9、t beprovided unless required and defined by the ordering docu-ments. Instead, each drawer lock will be keyed differently. SeeSpecification F 825 for lock description.4.1.4.3 A security panel between the two middle drawers toprovide two secure two-drawer storage areas for two crewmembers is only furn

10、ished when specified in ordering docu-ments. All four drawers in this type chest will be of same size.4.1.5 If the total weight of the chest of drawers is required,it shall be requested by the purchaser.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 For typical design, see Fig. 1.5.2 Sheet metal shall be in accord

11、ance with SpecificationA 366/A 366M, commercial quality.5.2.1 Minimum sheet metal thicknesses shall be:5.2.1.1 Sides and front rails 18 USSG (0.0478 in. or 1.2mm).5.2.1.2 Back 20 USSG (0.0359 in. or 0.9 mm).5.2.1.3 Base frame 16 USSG (0.0598 in. or 1.5 mm).5.3 Joining of Metal Components:5.3.1 Metal

12、 components shall be joined by welding orgluing with a structural adhesive as defined in TerminologyD 907. The back panel may be riveted to the case providedrivets are not visible after installation.5.3.2 Joining shall be adequate to prevent racking of chestduring handling.1This specification is und

(76mm) on centers.5.3.4 Visible spotwelds, higher than the

16、general surface ofthe adjacent metal, shall be ground flush.5.3.5 Visible spotweld depressions shall be spot filled andsanded flush.5.4 Side panels shall be suitably stiffened to prevent buck-ling or oil-canning.5.5 Sound deadening shall be vermin proof and applied toback and inner face of sides of

17、chest. Location and thickness ofapplied sound deadener shall be as required to sound-deadenchest.5.6 Top shall be manufactured in accordance with Specifi-cation F 826.5.7 Drawers shall be manufactured in accordance withSpecification F 825.5.8 A furniture base shall be provided suitable for securingc

18、hest of drawers to deck.6. Performance Requirements6.1 The completed chest of drawers, with the top anddrawers installed, shall satisfy the corresponding performancerequirements outlined in Specifications F 825 and F 826.7. Dimensions7.1 For dimensions, see Table 1.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Qualit

19、y Assurance8.1 All workmanship and material shall be of specifiedquality in keeping with the best commercial marine practice soas to produce each item suitable for its intended use.8.2 All exposed burrs, raw or sharp edges which might beinjurious to personnel shall be removed.8.3 Depressions conside

20、red unacceptable for products enduse shall be spot filled and sanded smooth.NOTE 1For description of Type I, II, III, and IV tops, see Specification F 826.NOTE 2For description of drawers, see Specification F 825.NOTE 3For optional security panel, see 4.1.4.3.NOTE 4If chest of drawers is located in

Inspection and Certification9.1 Manufacturer shall inspect and certify that the item

25、offurniture complies with the furniture specification and theloading requirements as defined in Section 6.10. Packaging and Package Marking10.1 Each item shall be marked in accordance with thepurchase order.10.2 Packaging shall be provided and shall be acceptable toa common carrier.11. Keywords11.1
