Scope1.1 This specification covers coal tar roof cement suitablefor trowel application in coal tar roofing and flashing syst

The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancew

Materials and Manufacture3.1 Coal tar roof cement shall consist of a processed coal tarbase,

8、volatile solvents, and mineral stabilizers, excludingasbestos, mixed to a smooth uniform consistency suitable fortrowel application.4. Chemical Composition4.1 The composition of coal tar roof cement shall conformto the requirements prescribed in Table 1.5. Performance Requirements5.1 UniformityA tho

9、roughly stirred sample shall show noseparation of solvent or settling that cannot be overcome bymoderate stirring after standing for 72 h at room temperature ina closed container.5.2 WorkabilityThe cement shall be of such a consistencythat it will spread readily and permit troweling smooth coatings1

10、.6 to 3.2 mm 116 to18 in. thick on vertical surfaces.5.3 Behavior at 60C 140FThe cement shall show noevidence of blistering, and sag or slide shall be no greater than6mm14 in.5.4 Adhesion to Wet SurfacesMinimum average 75 %.5.5 Flash Point38C 100F minimum.6. Sampling6.1 Sample the material from the

Inspection8.1 Inspection of the material shall be agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the

17、 supplier.9. Rejection and Resubmittal9.1 Failure to conform to any of the requirements prescribedin this specification may constitute grounds for rejection. In thecase of rejection, the supplier shall have the right to reinspectthe rejected material and resubmit the lot after removal of thosepackag

18、es not conforming to the requirements.10. Packaging and Package Marking10.1 The material shall be suitably packaged to permitacceptance by the carrier and to afford adequate protectionfrom the normal hazards of handling and shipment.10.2 Each container shall be plainly marked with the netcontents, t

19、he ASTM designation, name, brand, or trademark ofthe manufacturer or supplier and wording indicating that thematerial is asbestos free.
