Scope*1.1 This specification covers requirements
3、 for plasticizedcellulose acetate propionate thermoplastic compounds suitablefor injection molding and extrusion. These compounds have apropionyl content less than 48 % and an acetyl content lessthan 3 % and may or may not contain dyes and pigments.Cellulosic plastic materials, being thermoplastic,
4、are reprocess-able and recyclable. This specification allows for the use ofthose cellulosic materials, provided that all specific require-ments of this specification are met.1.2 The properties included in this specification are thoserequired to identify the compositions covered. There may beother re
5、quirements necessary to identify particular character-istics important to specialized applications. These may bespecified by using the suffixes as given in Section 5.1.3 This classification system and subsequent line call outspecification are intended to provide a means of calling outplastic materia
6、ls used in the fabrication of end items or parts.It is not intended for the selection of materials. Materialselection should be made by those having expertise in theplastic field after careful consideration of the design andperformance required of the part, environment to which it willbe exposed, fa
7、brication process to be employed, costs in-volved, and inherent properties of the material other than thosecovered by this specification.1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard.1.5 The following safety hazards caveat pertains only to thetest method portion, Section 11, of thi
