3、ious structural, architectural, pressure vessel, and heat-resistingapplications. The mechanical properties of these steels are customarily, but not necessarily, developed by a suitable heat treatmentgenerally referred to as tempering.1.2 Steel products under this specification are available in two g

4、rades:Grade Yield Strength, min, ksi MPa40 275 40 27550 350 50 35050 345 50 3451.3 The maximum thickness of plates is limited only by the capacity of the composition to meet the specified mechanicalproperty requirements; however, current practice normally limits the maximum thickness of plates furni

5、shed under thisspecification to 12 in. 2550 mm.1.4 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in eachsystem may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from

15、ecified in Table 1, and shall conform to applicablerequirements specified in the current edition of Specification A480/A480M.5. Heat Treatment5.1 The material shall be heat-treated by tempering to meet the requirements of this specification. The tempering temperatureshall not exceed 1400F 760C. Prio
