2、Shuttle Launches and Flight OperationsLesson(s) Learned: The use of simulated Space Shuttle launch and flight operations for training and rehearsal has proven to be an effective technique for enhancing safety and efficiency and is especially valuable in the case of special or rarely performed proced

3、ures or after a long hiatus of effort.Recommendation(s): Simulation-based training should be included in difficult or infrequent Space Shuttle operations whenever feasible. This type of training is especially needed after there has been a significant hiatus in performing an operation.Evidence of Rec

4、urrence Control Effectiveness: NASA concurs with the recommendation. NASA and Shuttle Processing Contract (SPC) have beneficially increased simulation-based training at KSC. The pursuit of a separate simulation training room and simulation team will allow NASA and SPC to further increase the number
