This specification establishes the requirements for manufacture and acceptance of a single bridgewire electric squib, refe

The squib is an electrically initiated pyrotechnic device designed to function as the first element in the firin
11、g train of a rocket motor. The squib is a single bridgewire type, Class A, as defined in MIL-1-23659. 3.2 Characteristics. 3.2.1 Performance. 3.2.1.1 Electrical. 3.2.1.1.1 Electrostatic discharge. 13、Adc) applied through the leads for 5 minutes over a temperature range from -80 to +200 degrees Fahrenheit (OF). 3.2.1.1.4 3.2.1.2 - Seal. The leak rate of the squib shall not exceed 1 x Bridgewire resistance. Squib bridgewire resistance shall be 1.0 50.1 ohm. atmospheric cubic centimeters per second
14、 (std atm cm 3/s) with one atmosphere differential pressure. standard 3.2.1.3 Radiographic. The squib shall show no evidence of loose powder, voids, or fissures in the charge or insulators. 3.2.1.4 Function. 3.2.1.4.1 All-fire sensi t ivit y. 3.2.1.4.1.1 All-fire, 3 amperes (A). The squib shall func
15、tion with the appli- cation of 3.0 kO.1 A to the leads, and shall produce a pressure output of 170 pounds per square inch (lb/in 2, in a 5 cubic centimeter (cm 3) pressure vessel within 5 milliseconds (ms) maximum after fire switch closure. 16、3.2.1.4.1.2 All-fire Bruceton. The squib shall have a calculated 3 A maximum, 3.2.1.4.2 No-f ir e sensit ivit p. 3.2.1.4.2.1 No-fire, 1 A/1 Watt (W), 5 minutes.) The squib shall not function with the application of 1 A of current and an associated power of 1 W minimum to the leads for 5 minutes mini
17、mum. 3.2.1,4.2.2 No-fire Bruceton. The squib shall have a calculated 1 A minimum, 1.0 percent no-fire point with a 95 percent confidence level. 3.2.2 Environmental. The squib shall not be damaged, nor shall safety or subsequent performance be degraded, by exposure to any natural combination of servi
18、ce use environments. These shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following environments. Test 103, Procedures 1 and 2, and shall be safe to handle and dispose of following the test. 3.2.2.2 Shock. The squib shall meet the shock requirements of MIL-1-23659, and shall function and output as
19、specified in 3.2.1.4.1.1 following the test. 3.2.2.3 Temperatur e-shock/humidit y/aiti tude. The squib shall meet the temperature-shock/humidity/altitude requirements of MIL-1-23659, and shall function and output as specified in 3.2.1.4.1.1 following the test. 3.2.2.4 Vibration. The squib shall meet
20、 the requiremnts of MIL-STD-810, Method 514.2, Procedure V, Part 2, Curve AH, and shall function and output as specified in 3.2.1.4.1.1 following the test. of MIL-1-23659, and shall function and output as specified in 3.2.1.4.1.1 following the test. 99 percent all-fire point with a 95 percent confid
21、ence level. 3.2.2.1 Forty-foot droe. The squib shall meet the requirements of MIL-STD-331, 3.2.2.5 Six-foot drop. The squib shall meet the six-foot drop requirements 3.3 Design and construction. 3.3.1 Production drawings. The squib shall be manufactured and assembled in accordance with Drawing 1137A
22、S225 and as specified herein. 3.3.2 Standards of manufacture. The squib shall be manufactured, inspected, and tested to meet the requirements specified herein. 3.3.3 Workmanshie. The requirement for first class workmanship shall not preclude the use of time- and labor-saving techniques, provided tha
23、t reliability and safety will in no way be jeopardized. 3.3.4 Test equipment calibration. Test equipment shall be calibrated and main- tained in accordance with a plan meeting the requirements of MIL-C-45662. When c specified in the contract or purchase order, the calibration plan shall be approved

When specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor shall prepare and submit to the Government for approval
