9、works using the simple network management protocol (SNMP). ITU-T H.641 (02/2012) FOREWORD The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nation
10、s specialized agency in the field of telecommunications, information and communication technologies (ICTs). The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of ITU. ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on
11、 them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T study groups which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of I
12、TU-T Recommendations is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSA Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with ISO and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is u
13、sed for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. Compliance with this Recommendation is voluntary. However, the Recommendation may contain certain mandatory provisions (to ensure, e.g., interoperability or applicability) and compliance with t
14、he Recommendation is achieved when all of these mandatory provisions are met. The words “shall“ or some other obligatory language such as “must“ and the negative equivalents are used to express requirements. The use of such words does not suggest that compliance with the Recommendation is required o
15、f any party. ITU-T H.641 (02/2012) Introduction Ubiquitous sensor network (USN) is a conceptual network built over existing physical networks that makes use of sensed data and provides knowledge services to anyone, anywhere and at any time, and where
23、the information is generated by using context awareness ITU-T Y.2221. One of the basic infrastructures of USN is wireless sensor networks that monitor physical or environmental conditions. These sensor networks may use different MAC/PHY protocols and different transport protocols, they may have diff
24、erent sensor node identification schemes and may use different management protocols. From the viewpoint of a sensor network management protocol, each sensor network may use different sensor network management protocols that are optimized for its MAC/PHY characteristics, transport layer characteristi
