SCOPEThe specification details the requirements of a fast curing 1 component materialthat cures by absorbing moisture from the air to form a rubbery, adherent, blacksealant adh

3、esive suitable for retaining stationary glass in the body opening, and isresistant to extended outdoor weathering without losing its adhesion and physicalcharacteristics.1.1 This material must be used in conjunction with the appropriate stationaryglass primers. 14、.1 Humidity (GM4465P). Samples are exposed for168 h to an environment of 35 2C and 100%RH.2.2.4.2 Environmental Cycle (GM9050P, Cycle I).5cycles.2.2.4.3 Heat Age. Samples are exposed for 336 h to atemperature of 70 3C.2.2.4.4 Water Immersion Plus Heat Age. Samples areimmersed for 72 h in water 55 2C

22、.2.5 Test Samples (continued)2.2.5.2 Vibration Test Method. A isosceles triangularshaped bead of material, 6 mm wide at the base,15 mm high and 95 mm long is placed on a flatside of the glass plate along one of the 95 mmedges. The glass is then positioned so as tosandwich the material between it and

23、 the steelpanel and forced down until the material reaches auniform thickness of 5 mm. The specimens arecured for a minimum of 72 h 23 2C and 50%RH and them subjected to the test condition. Afterthe specified exposure, each sample is tested onthe vibration machine and must withstand, withoutphysical

24、 change, a total of 900 000 cycles of shearusing 0.4 mm deflection and 0.3 mm tension. Allsamples must pass 300 000 cycles each 23 2C and 50% RH as well as water immersion 23 2C.2.2.6 Modulus of Rigidity in Shear. Shears are prepared as outlined inGM9521P and cured for 72 h 23 2C and 50% TH. Themate

28、50% RH for 504h. Cut the shears by running knife through the lengthof the material bead. Leave half the material on eachshear coupon. Rebuild the shear coupons using thecut coupons and the approved GM urethane servicekit (9981450 urethane). Allow the material to cure for72 h 23 2C and 50% RH. The mi

29、nimumcohesive strength of the urethanes shall be 1300 kPa.2.2.7.2 In Plant Repair. Follow the procedure in 3.2.7.1.except use the test material instead of the 9981450.2.2.8 Porosity. A 6 x 6 x 100 mm bead laid on a clean glass surfaceshall show no evidence of gassing at the glass material interfacea

30、fter curing 72 h 75 2C and 50% RH. A longitudinal cutthrough the bead shall show no porosity.2.2.9 Elongation *ASTM D638). Cure samples for 168 h 23 2Cand 50% RH. Cut samples using die #4. The jaw distance shallbe 25 mm. The percent elongation range shall be reported andwill become a requirement of

31、the material.2.2.10 Coefficient of Expansion. Prepare shear coupons as outlined in GM9521Pexcept before the top shear coupon is placed over the testmaterial, condition the shears and material 35 2C and 95%RH for 5 minutes. After

34、 the 5 minutes exposure, place the topshear coupon over the test material and allow the material tocure for 168 h 23 2C and 50% RH. The minimumcohesive shear strength requirement must be 1300 kPa.2.3.2 Sag Test. A right triangular shaped bead of material, 6 mm wideat the base and 15 mm high, shall b

35、e applied to a steel panel ona plan 60 from the horizontal. The bead shall be applied in ahorizontal direction on the inclined panel at a rate of 75 mm/s.The test shall not sag more than 5 mm in 3 h 23 2C and50% RH.2.3.3 Staining (GM9734P). The material shall not show a migratingstain on production

36、otopcoats or stain production windshieldglass interliner.2.3.4 Clean-up (GM9734P). The material shall be readily removablefrom production topcoats, glass surfaces, glass innerliners andvinyl top materials, with 9981606 solvent (or solvent agreedupon at time of approval with appropriate GM engineerin
