National foreword This standard includes safety requirements. This document (EN ISO 10821:2005+A1:2009) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 148 “Sewing

6、 machines” in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/SS H10 “Sewing machines” (Secretariat: CMC). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee), Section Bekleidungs- und Ledertechnik. Amendment of the Eur

7、opean Machinery Directive has made it necessary to review the previously valid standard, EN ISO 10821:2005, in terms of the essential requirements of the new European Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC. This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the “

8、Machinery Directive”, Directive 98/37/EC (valid until 28 December 2009), and the “revised Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, which takes effect on 29 December 2009, and which apply to industrial sewing machines that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This

9、standard serves to facilitate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of the directives. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirem

10、ents of the Machinery Directive (“presumption of conformity”). For the International Standards referred to in this document there are no national standards available unless they have been published as DIN EN, DIN EN ISO or DIN ISO standards with the same number, except for those below which correspo
