2、This standard, together with the November 1990 editions of DIN IS0 286 Parts 1 and 2, supersedes the March 1986 editions of DIN 7172 Parts 1 to 3. In keeping with current practice in standards published by the International Organization forStandardization (/SO), a comma has been used throughout as t
3、he decimal marker. 5000 5600 1 Scope and field of application This standard establishes principles for the specification of tolerances for linear dimensions, such as lengths, widths, heights, depths, diameters, etc. For sizes in the range from over 3150mm up to 70000 mm, it specifies the bases and f
4、ormulae from which tolerances and limit deviations are derived and which have also been used to calculate the values given in tables 7 to 11. If, for particular applications, tolerances and limit deviations are required that are not included in tables 7 to 11, these may also be calculated and specif
5、ied on the basis of this standard.The bases for toler- ances, deviations and fits for basic sizes up to 3150 mm are to be specified in accordance with IS0 286 Part 1,and the IS0 standard tolerances and limit deviations for the same size range, in accordance with IS0 286 Part 2. Note. It should be no
6、ted that maintaining tolerances of tolerance grades finer than 8 for basic sizes above 3150 mm given in this standard will require special care to be taken in the manufacturing process, especially as regards temperature fluctuations and thermal gradients in the workpiece. 5 600 6 300 6300 71 O0 I _

Standard tolerances for other standard tolerance grades may be calculated on the basis of the following formula: where IT is the standard tolerance: n is the tolerance grade (number assigned to standard tolerance grade (e.g. 10 in the case of IT10). I is defined for basic sizes above 3150 mm u
