24、t Basketmadeoutoforcoatedwithaninertmaterialwhichwillnotdamagethecontainers.Thebasketshallbe capableofholdingthecontainersuprightandseparate,andshallbefittedwithaperforatedlidtopreventthe containersfromfloatingwhenimmersed.Forthemultipletestingofcontainers,itmaybecombinedwithan automaticdeviceforimm

25、ersingthebasketofcontainersinthehotbath(3.2)andtransferringittothecoldbath (3.1). 4Sampling Thetestshallbeperformedonapredeterminednumberofcontainers. ThecontainersusedforthetestshallnothavebeensubjectedtoanyothermechanicalorthermaltestprocedureENISO7459:2004(E) 5 whichcouldadverselyaffecttheirtherm

Thesamplesshallbeselectedtoprovidetheinformationwhichisrequiredfromtheparticulartest. 5Procedure 5.1 Fillthecoldbath(3.1)withwatertoavolumeequaltoatleast8dm 3 foreachkilogramofglasstobetested andtoadepthsufficientforcompleteimmersionofthecontainersplusatleast50mm.Adjustthewater te

27、mperaturetowithin1Cofthespecifiedlowertemperature,t 2 . 5.2 Fillthehotbath(3.2)withatleastthesamevolumeofwaterasin5.1,thenheatandmaintainthe temperaturetowithin1Cofthespecifieduppertemperature,t 1 . 5.3 Placetheemptycontainersinthebasket(3.3)sothattheyarehelduprightandseparate,thenfastenthelid andim

28、mersethebasketinthehotbath,untilthecontainersarecompletelyfilledwithwaterandthetopsoftheir finishesareatleast50mmbelowthewaterlevel.Ifnecessary,adjusttheheatcontroltomaintainthebath temperaturetowithin1Cofthespecifieduppertemperature,t 1 ,andkeepthecontainersimmersedatthis temperatureforatleast5min.

29、 5.4 Transferthebasketwiththefilledcontainers,eithermechanicallyormanually,withinmax.16s,fromthehot bathtothecoldbathsothatthecontainersarecompletelyimmersed.Keepthecontainersimmersedfor30s,then removethebasketanditscontentsfromthecoldbath. 5.5 Determineassoonaspossiblethenumberofcontainerswhichhave

30、failedthetest,byinspectingeachone forcracksorbreakage. 6 Thermalshockresistance 6.1Passtest Asampleshallbedeemedtohavepassedthetestifnomorethantheagreednumberarecrackedorbroken,after beingsubjectedtoanagreedthermalshockoft 1 t 2 . 6.2Progressivetesttoaspecifiedpercentageofbreakages Containerswhichpa

31、ssthetestshallberepeatedlytested,asdescribedinclause5,butwithincreasingt 1 t 2 values,untilaspecifiedpercentageofthecontainersfailthetest. NOTE Normally,thedifferencebetweent 2 andt 1 isincreasedin5Cincrements. 6.3Totalprogressivetest Containerswhichpassthetest,describedinclause5,shallbetestedinacco

32、rdancewith6.2,untilallthe containersfailthetest. NOTE lfthetesthasnotbeenconcludedbythetimethetemperatureofthehotwaterbathreaches95C,thetestshould becontinuedbyloweringthetemperatureofthecoldwaterbath. 6.4HighIeveltest Containersshallbetestedinaccordancewithclause5,butatatemperaturedifference,t 1 t

33、2 ,sufficientlyhighto causeanagreedpercentagetofailinasingletest. 7 Thermalshockendurance Thecontainersshallbetestedinaccordancewiththetotalprogressivetest,describedin6.3,andthenumberof failuresateachtemperaturedifferenceshallberecorded.ENISO7459:2004(E) 6 Thethermalendurance,whichistheprobabletempe

34、raturedifferenceatwhich50%ofthecontainerswouldhave failed,isdeterminedfromagraphofthecumulativepercentageoffailuresagainstthetemperaturedifferenceat whichthecontainersfailed. 8 Safetyrequirements Thistestproceduremaybeinjurioustohealthifadequateprecautionsarenottakenbytheoperator.Testsshould becarri
