9、ad losses, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is incorporated into BS 2782 Methods of testing plastics Part 11: Thermoplastics pipes, fittings and valves, as Method 1121H:1996, for association with related test methods for plastics materials and plastics piping
10、 components. No existing British Standard is superseded by this standard. NOTEThroughout the text the words “formula” and “formulae” are used where for correct English “equation(s)” would be more appropriate. 13、 a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represen

ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization. The main task of technical com
15、mittees is to prepare International Standards, but in exceptional circumstances a technical committee may propose the publication of a Technical Report of one of the following types: type 1, when the required support cannot be obtained for the publication of an International Standard, despite repeat
16、ed efforts; type 2, when the subject is still under technical development or where for any other reason there is the future but not immediate possibility of an agreement on an International Standard; type 3, when a technical committee has collected data of a different kind from that which is normall

19、 water supplies.BS 2782-11: Method 1121H:1996 BSI 11-1998 1 1 Scope This Technical Report gives a method of calculating head loss in the transport of liquids under pressure in hydraulically smooth thermoplastics pipes. The formulae given in the Technical Report apply to the transport of water under
20、pressure, or to all other liquids of the same dynamic viscosity, at temperatures of up to 45C. 2 Definitions For the purposes of this Technical Report, the following definitions apply. 2.1 flowrate, q v volume of water flowing through the pipe per unit time 2.2 steady flow flow in which the flowrate
21、 through a measuring section does not vary with time 2.3 average velocity, v flowrate through the pipe divided by the reference cross-section of the pipe. It is calculated by dividing the actual flowrate through the pipe by the cross-section of the pipe 2.4 reference cross-section of the pipe, A are
22、a of the circle with a diameter equal to the average internal diameter of the pipe. The free cross-sectional area of the pipe is calculated from the inside diameter of the pipe 2.5 head loss, Dh change in pressure head between two sections of a horizontal pipe due to liquid flow through the pipe 2.6
23、 head drop, J head loss per unit length of pipe 3 Symbols and units The symbols and units used in this Technical Report are given in Table 1.
