The granular materialshall (1) satisfy the definition of rubber in Terminology D1566,and (2) have been vulcanized, as defined in TerminologyD1566 (under vulcanization), such that it becomes t

Classification4.1 Bonded r

Materials and Manufacture6.1 The color, finish and wearing surface characteristicsshall match the sample mutually agreed upon between thebuyer and seller.NOTE 1The colors and patterns that are available are indicated inindividual manufacturers current catalogs. As manufac

17、tured, and due tothe uncontrollable characteristics of the raw material, colors may varysomewhat in hue or shade from the catalog.NOTE 2Differences in color and texture can result in shading variationfrom piece to piece. Color and texture differences or striation is inherentin the manufacturing proc

18、ess and is not considered a defect.NOTE 3Where color match is a concern, samples from the manufac-turer shall be obtained to verify color or shade acceptability, or both.6.2 Bonded rubber crumb flooring shall be of uniformstructure and composition throughout, consisting of rubbergranules thoroughly

19、and uniformly bonded together.7. Performance Requirements7.1 Abrasion ResistanceTest in accordance with TestMethod D3389 method B and with the abrader equipped withH-18 wheels and a load of 500 g. The flooring shall not losemore than 1 g after 1000 cycles.7.2 Flexibility:7.2.1 Material measuring 0.2

20、5 in. (6.35 mm) or thinnerTest in accordance with Test Method F137, both face-in andface-out, using a 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) mandrel. The flooringshall show no tears, flakes, or splitting of the product matrix.7.2.2 Material measuring more than 0.25 in. (6.35 mm)Test in accordance with Test Method F137,

21、 both face-in andface-out, using a mandrel of the same diameter as the materialthickness. The flooring shall show no tears, flakes or splittingof the product matrix.7.3 Static Load LimitTest in accordance with Test MethodF970, with an applied load of 250 lb (113.4 kg).7.3.1 Bonded rubber crumb floor

22、ing shall have a residualindentation of not more than 0.005 in. (0.127 mm).NOTE 4Test Method F970 is suitable only for tiles up to 1 in. thick.7.4 Dimensional StabilityTest in accordance with TestMethod F2199.7.4.1 Bonded rubber crumb flooring shall not change inlinear dimensions more than nominal 0

23、.050 in. per linear foot(60.40 %).NOTE 5Test Method F2199 is suitable only for tiles up to 1 in. thick.7.5 Resistance to HeatWhen tested in accordance withTest Method F1514, the flooring shall have an average Eofnot more than 8.00.7.6 Resistance to Short-Term Chemical ExposureTest inaccordance with

24、Test Method F925 using the followingchemicals, which represent an abbreviated list:White vinegar (5 % acetic acid)Rubbing alcohol (70 % isopropyl alcohol)Sodium hydroxide solution (5 % NaOH)Hydrochloric acid solution (5 % HCl)Sulfuric acid solution (5 % H2SO4)Household ammonia solution (5 % NH4OH)Di

25、sinfectant cleaner (5 % active phenol)The flooring shall have no more than a slight change in surfacedulling, surface attack or color change.NOTE 6These basic chemicals are representative of those likely to befound in domestic, commercial and institutional use. Many proprietarycompounds contain one

26、or more of these basic chemicals. Should theflooring need to be resistant to a specific chemical, this additionalrequirement should become part of the procurement document.8. Dimensions and Permissible Variations8.1 Type 1 material, roll:8.1.1 ThicknessThe thickness of the floor covering shallbe as

27、specified in the contract or order. The minimum thicknessshall be 0.060 in. (1.5 mm). A tolerance of 60.020 in. (60.50mm) from the specified thickness shall be permitted, providedthe product thickness does not go below the minimum thick-ness of 0.060 in. (1.5 mm). Thickness is measured in accor-danc

28、e with Test Method F386.8.1.2 Length and WidthThe length/width shall not be lessthan as marked on the label, package or as specified in thecontract or order.8.2 Type II material, tile:8.2.1 ThicknessThe thickness of the bonded rubber crumbfloor covering tile shall be as specified in the contract or

29、order.The minimum thickness shall be 0.060 in. (1.5 mm). Atolerance of 60.020 in. (60.50 mm) from the specifiedthickness shall be permitted, provided the product thicknessdoes not go below the minimum thickness of 0.060 in. (1.5mm). Thickness is measured in accordance with Test MethodF386.8.2.2 Size

30、Bonded rubber crumb floor tiles are available ina variety of sizes and shall be as specified. The followingtolerances shall be permitted per tile when measured inaccordance with Test Method F2055.8.2.2.1 Up to and including 12 by 12 in. = 60.032 in. (305by 305 mm 6 0.8 mm).8.2.2.2 Larger than 12 by

31、12 in. = 60.060 in. (305 by 35mm 6 1.5 mm).8.2.3 SquarenessWhen tested in accordance with TestMethod F2055, the out of squareness of the bonded rubbercrumb floor tile shall not exceed 0.030 in. (0.76 mm).NOTE 7Special care must be taken while measuring rubber tiles forsquareness, since the elastic n

32、ature of the rubber can lead to stretching orskewing of the tiles during measurement.9. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 The bonded rubber crumb floor covering furnished inaccordance with this specification shall be an acceptable matchto approved samples in color, pattern and appearance. TheF3

33、041 142product shall be free of defects which adversely affect perfor-mance or appearance. Such defects include: blemishes,indentations, cracks, blisters, severe skive marks, and flakingof the surface. The product may exhibit some surface texture orstriation.9.2 When crumb rubber based flooring prod

34、uct will beplaced next to each other, some differences in appearance couldbe observed due to variation in surface texture, shading, color,etc. These visual appearance differences shall not result in thetiles not meeting the specifications listed in Table 1.10. Sampling10.1 Sampling for testing physi

35、cal characteristics listed inTable 1 shall be done in accordance with the provisions setforth in the latest revision ofANSI/ASQC Z1.4. The inspectionlevel shall be special inspection level S-1, as noted in Table I,and the acceptable quality level (AQL) shall be 6.5 defects perhundred units as noted

36、in Table II-A or as otherwise specifiedin 10.2 herein. The lot size shall be expressed in units. A unitrepresents a single, manufactured, inventoried item, as definedby the manufacturing process.10.2 Sampling for testing physical characteristics listed inTable 1 shall be agreed upon by the purchaser

37、 and themanufacturer as part of the procurement document.11. Inspection11.1 Sampling for inspection of the bonded rubber crumbfloor covering for defects that would adversely affect perfor-mance (see 9.1) shall be done in accordance with the provi-sions set forth in ANSI/ASQC Z1.4. The inspection lev

38、el shallbe Level I as noted in Table I with an acceptable quality level(AQL) of 6.5 defects per hundred as noted in Table II-A or asotherwise specified in 11.2 herein. The lot size shall beexpressed in units. A unit represents a single, manufactured,inventoried item, as defined by the manufacturing

39、process.11.2 Inspection of the bonded rubber crumb floor coveringfor defects that would adversely affect performance (see 9.1)shall be agreed upon by the purchaser and the manufacturer aspart of the procurement documents.12. Product Marking12.1 Unless otherwise specified in 5.1, shipping containerss

40、hall be marked with the name of the material as defined by thecontract or order under which the shipment is made, the size,thickness, pattern number, the quantity or length containedtherein, and the name of the manufacturer.12.2 When product sample sets, sample set cover cards,marketing and technica

41、l literature reference this specification,the complete product classification information relative to thisspecification shall be included.13. Packaging and Package Marking13.1 Unless otherwise specified in 5.1, the bonded rubbercrumb floor covering shall be packaged in accordance withnormal commerci

42、al practice and packed to ensure acceptanceby the common carrier and to provide protection againstdamage during normal shipping, handling, and storage.14.
