Scope1.1 This specification covers two wrought iron-cobalt alloytypes currently manufactured and supplied commercial
3、ly foruse in magnetic components requiring high permeability at andabove 15 kG (1.5 T) or high magnetic saturation. The specificalloy types covered are:Alloy Type UNS Nominal Composition1 R30005 49 % Co, 49 % Fe, 2 % V2 K92650 27 % Co, 0.50 % Cr, balance Fe1.1.1 This specification also covers materi
4、al supplied by aproducer in the form and physical condition suitable forfabrication into parts that will later be given final heattreatment to achieve the desired magnetic characteristics and,where required, mechanical properties. It covers materialsupplied in form of forging billets, hot-rolled pro
5、ducts, cold-finished bars, and strip.1.2 This specification does not cover parts produced bycasting or by powder metallurgical techniques.1.3 The values stated in customary (cgs-emu and inch-pound) units are to be regarded as standard. 14、ned, blanked intoflat pieces, wound into a core, punched into laminations, orphoto-etched.5. Chemical Composition5.1 The material shall conform to the requirements pre-scribed in Table 1. Since magnetic and possibly mechanicalproperties are of primary importance, analysis variations arepermitted sub
15、ject to mutual agreement between the producerand user.5.2 Determination of metallic constituents shall be by amethod acceptable to both producer and user. Analysis ofcarbon, nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen shall be done in accor-dance with Test Method E 1019.6. Form and Condition6.1 These materials are
16、 capable of being produced in formsand conditions described suitable for further manufacture intospecific magnetic components. The desired form and conditionshould be discussed with the producer to ensure receiving thecorrect product. Available forms and conditions are:6.1.1 Forging BilletHot-worked
17、 and surface prepared bygrinding.6.1.2 Hot-Rolled ProductHot-rolled, hot-rolled and acidcleaned, and hot-rolled and mechanically cleaned.6.1.3 Cold-Finished BarsCenterless ground.6.1.4 StripCold-rolled.7. Magnetic Property Requirements7.1 GeneralMaterial supplied under terms of this speci-fication s
18、hall be tested only by use of dc test methods. ACmagnetic property measurements and requirements are subjectto mutual agreement between the producer and user.7.2 Test SpecimenWhenever possible, test specimen sizeand shape shall conform to Practice A 34/A 34M. Shapes suchas stacked ring laminations,
19、solid rings, and tape wound coresare the preferred test specimens. If, however, it is impossible toprepare a preferred test specimen shape from the item, thespecimen shape used shall be mutually agreed upon betweenthe producer and the user.7.3 DensityThe assumed densities of these materials formagne
20、tic test purposes are:Alloy Type UNS Density g/cm3(kg/m3)1 R30005 8.12 (8120)2 K92650 7.95 (7950)7.4 Test Specimen Heat TreatmentThe heat treatmentapplied to the test specimen shall be in accordance with aprocedure mutually agreed upon between the producer and theuser or a procedure recommended by t
21、he producer to achievethe magnetic properties described in this specification (seeAppendix X1).7.5 Test MethodsMagnetic testing shall be conducted inaccordance with Test Method A 341/A 341M, Test MethodA 596/A 596M, or Test Method A 773/A 773M. Testing shallbe conducted at the magnetic field strengt
22、hs as shown in Table2 for the alloy type.7.6 RequirementsThe material shall meet the require-ments listed in Table 2.8.
