It is published for the needs of the European Aerospace Industry. It has been tec
5、hnically approved by the experts of the concerned Domain following member comments. Subsequent to the publication of this Prestandard, the technical content shall not be changed to an extent that interchangeability is affected, physically or functionally, without re-identification of the standard. A
6、fter examination and review by users and formal agreement of ASD-STAN, the ASD-STAN prEN will be submitted as a draft European Standard (prEN) to CEN (European Committee for Standardization) for formal vote and transformation to full European Standard (EN). The CEN national members have then to impl
7、ement the EN at national level by giving the EN the status of a national standard and by withdrawing any national standards conflicting with the EN. ASD-STAN Technical Committee approves that: “This document is published by ASD-STAN for the needs of the European Aerospace Industry. The use of this s
8、tandard is entirely voluntary, and its applicability and suitability for any particular use, including any patent infringement arising therefrom, is the sole responsibility of the user.” ASD-STAN reviews each standard and technical report at least every five years at which time it may be revised, re

14、:2018 (E) 3 1 Scope This standard specifies the test for the determination of the resistance of non-metallic materials in part or in whole to flame and glow propagation and to flame penetration. This test method is also used for testing non-metallic materials which have to meet the test criteria for
15、 the 45 Bunsen burner test. It is used for evaluation of non-metallic materials or constructions used in the interiors of aerospace vehicles but also may be used in other applications as specified in applicable procurement and regulatory documents. This standard should be used to measure and describ
16、e the properties of non-metallic materials, products or assemblies in response to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions and should not be used to describe or appraise the fire hazard or fire risk of materials, products, or assemblies under actual fire conditions. However, results of
17、this test may be used as elements of a fire risk assessment which takes into account all of the factors which are pertinent to an assessment of the fire hazard of a particular end use. 2 Normative references The following documents are referred to in the text in such a way that some or all of their

22、ceases following the removal of flame application Note 1 to entry: The time is expressed in seconds. 3.4 flame penetration flame penetration occurs if the Bunsen burner flame penetrates (passes through) the test specimen during the time of flame application Note 1 to entry: Flame penetration is defi
23、ned to have occurred if the burner flame passes through a hole or crack in the specimen that forms during the test. Flaming combustion on the top of the specimen that results from auto ignition is not considered flame penetration in this test. 4 Principle of method Testing is performed on a specimen
24、 that is held at an angle of 45 to the horizontal plane. A burner flame, having defined parameters, is applied to the specimen for a defined period of time. The after flame time, after removal of the burner flame, and the after glow time is measured. Flame penetration is reported. 5 Designation EXAM
