3、nclude the proposals dated August 16, 2013. The new and revised requirements are substantially in accordance with Proposal(s) on this subject dated March 22, 2013 and August 16, 2013. 19、es, emergency lighting and power batteries and uninterruptible power supply batteries of the valve regulated or vented type. A battery system composed of vented or valve regulated types with battery management controls and other battery system components, and other chemistries or battery types are c
20、overed by the Standard for Batteries for Use in Light Electric Rail (LER) Applications and Stationary Applications, UL 1973. 1.2 These requirements only address potential risks unique to the utilization of a battery supply in a product. Products employing a battery supply shall comply with the basic
21、 requirements contained in this standard applicable to the type of product and its intended use. 1.3 These requirements do not cover risks that may be unique to certain cell chemistries, such as the re and explosion risks of lithium batteries. Additional investigations are required to evaluate such
22、risks. 1.4 The investigation of a family or group of batteries may be based on the investigation of batteries representative of the family or group. 2 General 2.1 Components 2.1.1 Except as indicated in 2.1.2, a component of a product covered by this standard shall comply with the requirements for t
23、hat component. 2.1.2 A component need not comply with a specic requirement that: a) Involves a feature or characteristic not needed in the application of the component in the product covered by this standard; or b) Is superseded by a requirement in this standard. 2.1.3 A component shall be used in a
24、ccordance with its recognized rating established for the intended conditions of use. 2.1.4 Specic components are recognized as being incomplete in construction features or restricted in performance capabilities. Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions, such as certain temp
