22、 Motor pressure driven An electric motor driven pump displaces fluid and electrically controlled hydraulic valves are used to control the direction of the fluid flow and subsequent actuator direction. See Figure 3. d) Accumulator pressure driven An electric motor driven pump displaces fluid to charg

23、e an accumulator system and electrically controlled hydraulic valves are used to direct fluid from the accumulator system to drive directional actuator motion. Some actuators use accumulators to achieve the specified fail-safe position only, electrically controlled hydraulic valves in these systems

24、divert fluid in a single direction. See Figure 4. Figures 1 through 4 allow any type of linear or rotary cylinder and show prime hydraulic source details only. Valve types, reliefs and reservoir details are not shown. - 13 - ANSI/ISA-96.06-01-2014 4.2 Types of motion Within the four design types the

25、re are two types of actuator motion: a) Linear Provides linear motion through the use of either a single or double rod (through rod) hydraulic cylinder. b) Rotary Provides rotary motion through the use of a hydraulic cylinder(s) driving a scotch yoke, rack and pinion, or clevis and arm mechanism. 5

26、User defined requirements These items are required to properly specify an electro-hydraulic valve actuator. If these items are not specifically covered in the specification and/or purchasing documents for the actuator, the actuator manufacturers standards will apply and shall be listed on the actuat

27、or manufacturers datasheet. 5.1 Ambient conditions 5.1.1 Temperature User shall specify the ambient temperature range for the installation. The ambient temperature range for electro-hydraulic actuators is typically from -4F to +104F (-20C to +40C). Severe environments such as arctic, desert, marine,

28、 tropical and applications such as those in close proximity to heat sources may require special considerations. With the flexibility of electro-hydraulics it is possible to configure these actuators to operate in extreme temperature ranges (e.g., -48F to +300F / -44C to 149C). 5.1.2 Hazardous area c

29、lassification If required, the user shall specify the need for explosion proof equipment in accordance with the country of use (i.e., INMETRO, CSA, NEC, IECEx, ATEX, etc.). The user shall recognize that some electro-hydraulic actuator assemblies are comprised of individually certified components for

30、 use in hazardous areas. The suitability for use in hazardous areas is also dependent on how components are integrated together. For these actuator assemblies, the user may want to consider a 3rd party certification, before use in a hazardous area, to validate compliance. ANSI/ISA-96.06-01-2014 - 14

31、 - 5.1.3 Ingress protection - Electrical User may specify the required ingress protection from either the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 60529 Standard or the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Standard Number 250. Unless otherwise stated, actuators designed to the

32、 electro-hydraulic actuator standard shall meet, as a minimum, NEMA 4 and IEC - IP56. 5.1.3.1 Electrical enclosure materials Numerous materials are available for standalone electrical enclosures and the user may specify a material based on their own requirements. If not specified, the manufacturers

33、standard materials shall be used. Typical enclosure materials may include but not limited to: a) Painted carbon steel Excellent enclosure strength and nominal corrosion protection. b) Non-metallic Excellent corrosion protection with reduced box strength. c) 303 and 304 Stainless steel Good corrosion

34、 protection, excellent enclosure strength. d) Aluminum Good corrosion protection, excellent enclosure strength. e) 316 Stainless steel Excellent corrosion protection, excellent enclosure strength. 5.1.4 Ingress protection Reservoir User may specify either a non-isolated or an isolated oil reservoir

35、system as defined in section 6.8.2. The specification of an isolated reservoir system provides the maximum protection against oil contamination and should be considered for harsh environments where dust, humidity and contamination levels are high. Improving the protection against reservoir contamina

36、tion will reduce system maintenance, downtime, waste disposal costs and extend filtration life. 5.2 Performance requirements 5.2.1 Output User shall specify the required torque / thrust at the following points (if available, including all safety factors): BTO-Break to open RTO-Run to open ETO-End to

37、 open BTC-Break to close RTC-Run to close ETC-End to close Torque / Thrust Limit (Valve MAST) - 15 - ANSI/ISA-96.06-01-2014 5.2.2 Travel User shall specify the stroke length / rotation angle. Included in this specification shall be consideration for over travel in the actuator to account for variati

38、ons in the mounting hardware, valve internals or lost motion in the valve coupling. 5.2.3 Operating time User may specify the cycle or stroke time. When the cycle or stroke time is not specified, the times shall be provided as 10-12 inches of linear stroke per minute or 5 seconds per inch of valve b

39、ore (part turn). To detail the speed requirements the following nomenclature shall be used: a) Opening Speed Total travel time from input signal change measured across the actuators input for the actuator to travel from a full closed position to ninety five percent of the full open position. b) Clos

40、ing Speed Total travel time from input signal change measured across the actuators input for the actuator to travel from a full open position to ninety five percent of the full closed position. c) Fail Safe / ESD (Emergency Shut Down) / Trip Speed Total travel time from a qualifying event to achieve

41、 the fail safe position. 5.3 Valve details User shall specify the valve closing direction as follows: a) Rotary Clockwise (CW) or Counter-Clockwise (CCW) (when looking down on valve stem) b) Linear Extend or retract User shall specify the installed valve stem orientation (vertical or horizontal). Us

42、er may provide the following valve information which will allow the actuator manufacturer to better understand the actuation requirements: a) Valve type b) Valve manufacturer c) Valve model d) Valve size e) Valve class 5.4 Fail-safe User shall specify the fail-safe position and conditions; if not sp

43、ecified, the electro-hydraulic actuator will fail in last position. 5.4.1 Fail-safe positions Common fail-safe positions available: a) Fail in last position (Lock in last/current position) ANSI/ISA-96.06-01-2014 - 16 - b) Fail open (Drive to the full open position) c) Fail closed (Drive to the full

44、closed position) d) Fail to user specified position 5.4.2 Fail-safe conditions Condition specification shall include active or passive state and the levels which define the event. a) Loss of analog control signal b) Loss of digital communication c) ESD / trip signal d) Loss of the electrical power s

45、upply e) Loss of hydraulic pressure 5.5 Controls User shall specify the method or combination of methods used to control the actuator. This section defines the available methods for control. 5.5.1 Local control capabilities When specified, a local pushbutton/control station shall be provided with a

46、local-remote switch and open-close push buttons. 5.5.2 Remote/Network control Actuators electronic controller shall be provided with an integrally mounted device to receive an analog or digital signal, to define the actuators set point. The user shall specify the control type as follows. 5.5.3 Analo

47、g control Actuators shall be position based on an incoming control signal of 4-20mA and will be able to accept a range of 3mA to 22mA, as measured at the actuators input. 5.5.4 Digital communication Actuators shall be provided with an integrally-mounted device providing connectivity with the host co

48、ntrol system for actuator control, position feedback and status indication. The control device shall meet the appropriate recognized protocol or BUS system standards and shall be certified by the appropriate organization. Typical protocols/buses include: a) Foundation Fieldbus b) HART c) PROFI-Net d

49、) PROFI-Bus e) Device Net f) Modbus g) Ethernet/IP - 17 - ANSI/ISA-96.06-01-2014 Additional diagnostic and data collection may be provided upon request and should be agreed upon between the user and the actuator supplier, and included in the order specification. 5.5.5 Pulse control Actuators shall open or close the valve based on a wet or dry contact input signal. a) Active pulses shall be in the range of 22V to 120V, AC or DC. b) No pulse is defined as 0V to 8V, AC or DC. 5.5.6 Discrete control Actuators shall open, close, or st
