The American Standards Association (ASA) initiated the B31 Project in March 1926 to meetthat need. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (AS
22、ME) proposed the work and hasserved as sponsor since its inception.The first edition was published in 1935 as the American Tentative Standard Code for PressurePiping. To keep the Code abreast of developments in design, welding, and of new standards andspecifications, as well as of developments in se
