This specification makes provisions for preproduction te sting. 3. 2 Selection of specifications and standards. necessary commodities and services not specified herein shall be selected in accordance with MIL-STD-143. 15、3 Materials and processes 3. 3. 1 Metals, treated to resist corrosion due to fuels, salt spray, or atmospheric conditions likely to be met in storage or normal service, Metals shall be of the corrosion-resistant type or suitably 3. 3. 2 Dissimilar metals. Unless suitably protected against electrolyt

16、ic corrosion, dissimilar metals shall not be used in intimate contact with each other. Dissimilar metals are defined in MIL-STD-889. 3. 3. 3 Nonmagnetic materials. Nonmagnetic materials shall be used for all components except where magnetic materials offer definite advantages. 3. 3.4 Nonmetallic mat

18、iber glass. If fiber glass material is used in the construction of the basic container, it shall be manufactured in accordance with the require- ments of MIL-P-9400. The material shall meet the physical requirements of table I and workmanship requirements of L-P-383 when tested in accordance with th

19、e applicable methods of FED-STD-406. Where glass cloth is used, it shall be preimpregnated cloth, Resins shall be in accordance with MIL-R- 7575 or MIL-R-9300 for polyester and epoxy resins, respectively, 3. 3. 5 Fungus-resistant material Materials which are not susceptible to fungus attack shall be

20、 used to the greatest extent practicable. When materials are used that are susceptible to fungus attack, they shall be treated with a fungicidal agent , 3. 3. 6 Protective treatment. When materials are used in the construction of the basic container which are subject to deterioration when exposed to

21、 climatic and environmental conditions likely to occur during service usage, they shall be protected against such deterioration in a manner that will in no. way prevent compliance with the performance requirements of this specification. The use of any protective coating that will crack, chip, or sca

22、le with age or when ex- posed to extreme climatic and environmental conditions shall be avoided. 3. 3. 6.1 Aluminum parts. All aluminum parts shall be anodized in accordance with MIL-A-8625. After anodizing, all exposed parts shall be processed with a potassium dichromate seal and dyed to a color su

The survival kit container shall be designed to allow the following operations: a. leaving the container in the aircraft at the parachute accessory rings. Normal abandonment of the aircraft

29、after a flight, taking the parachute and Disconnection of the container shall be made b. Emergency abandonment of the aircraft on the ground, in the water, et cetera, Operation of the lap belt buckle will release the man from the seat. The survival kit container may be removed or may remain in the a

30、ircraft based upon the users decision. When the container is to be left in the aircraft, the container emergency release handle shall permit manual actuation of the container to release allz connections between the container and the parachute. The raft shall not be actuated and the survival kit drop

31、line attachment fitting shall remain with the portion of ahrdware remaining with the container. c. inflation of the life raft. The raft and survival equipment shall be secured to the man by means of a dropline. This operation shall be accomplished in the following steps: Ejection with subsequent man

32、ual release of the container from the man followed by (1) Separation of the container from the seat shall automatically connect the dropline to the portion of the container hardware remaining attached to the personnel parachute harness accessory ring after container deployment. 37、pline. *3. 4. 3 Reliability. The survival kit container operating hardware shall have a mean-cycle-between-failures (MCBF) of .lo0 cycles with a minimum reli- ability of, 99 at a 90 percent confidence level. A cycle shall consist of one operation as specified in 4. 6. 3. 3. 4. 3.1 Lon evit The survi

38、val kit container shall have a service operating life span +-I+ o not ess than 300 cycles in the manual mode before wearout fail- . ures occur or the equipment consistently fails to meet the specified MCBF index, Parts requiring replacement within this period of time and the normal operating period

39、of such parts shall be recorded by the contractor. 3.4. 4 Welding. 8611 or MIL-W-6858, or both. Welding shall be accomplished in accordance with MIL-W- 3.4. 5 Castings. with MIL-C -6021. Castings shall be designed and inspected in accordance 3. 4. 6 Safetying. All threaded parts shall be positively

40、lacked or safetied by safety wiring, self-locking nuts, or any other approved methods. Safety wire shall be applied in accordance with the practice specified in MS33540 and shall conform to MS20995. 3.4. 7 Swaging. shall be carefully performed. to 100 pounds or three times the maximum service load;
