Salient Characterist

2、ics. The street sweeper shall possess, but shall not be limited to, the following characteristics. All necessary systems and components not specified herein shall be the manufacturers standard. Physical dimensions. a. Overall width: 70 inches maximum. b. Overall length: 169 inches maximum. c. Overal

3、l Height: 100 inches maximum. d. Weight: 12,500 pounds maximum. Drive system. The system shall be the manufacturers standard, water cooled, diesel engine. Minimum 90 hp engine is required. The engine shall operate satisfactorily on grade JP-4 and grade JP-5 fuel conforming to MIL-T-5624 under emerge

4、ncy, short duration conditions and on grade JP-8 fuel conforming to MIL-T-83133 under normal conditions. The unit shall be equipped with a hydrostatic transmission. The unit shall be equipped with a hydraulic bypass tow valve and towing hooks. Steering: System. The turning radius shall be no greater

5、 than 13 feet. The unit shall be equipped with full time four wheel steering. The tires shall be steel belted radial. SusDension. The unit shall be equipped with a sealed pressurized cab equipped with the following features: heater, defroster, blower, windshield wiper and washer, tinted safety glass, second person seating, power steering, and a filtered cab air i

8、ntake. Sweeping: Path. The unit shall be equipped with both a minimum 5 1 -inch long cylindrical main brush for loading debris and at least one rotary side brush. LiPhtinq. The sweeper shall include headlights, taillights, and backup lights. It shall also include, as a minimum, two front floodlights

9、 and one rear floodlight. Dust Control. The sweeper shall be equipped with the manufacture?s standard dust control system. Debris Pickun The sweeper shall be able to efficiently pick up sand, dirt, rocks, broken glass, and bulky light debris. Hopper. The unit shall be equipped with a minimum 3 cubic

10、 yard stainless steel hopper. The hopper shall be capable of being mechanically dumped. Auxiliary Side Brush. The unit shall be equipped with an additional rotary brush that the operator can control with a single joy stick from inside the cab. The operator shall be able to adjust both the position o

11、f the brush, as well as its tilt hydraulically. The brush shall permit sweeping around obstacles and on top of curb areas inaccessible to the sweeper?s conventional side brush. Auxiliary equipment. The following-shall be provided: a. The unit shall be equipped with a high capacity vacuum hose attach

12、ent suitable for pick up of wet or dry debris. The hose inlet shall have a minimum 6-inch OD and 12-foot length. b. The unit shall be equipped with an audio backup alarm. Painting. Unless otherwise specified (see Note i), painting shall be in accordance with manufacturer?s standard commercial practi

13、ce. Identification marking. A permanently marked identification plate shall be securely attached to the vehicle in a readily accessible location. T

15、he sweeper shall conform to all Federal Laws and Regulations governing noise, air pollution and other health and safety requirements which are in effect for this type of equipment at the time of contract award. The mechanical street sweeper furnished must be the latest model as of the date of award

16、(with minor modifications, as that term is defined in DOD FAR Supplement 252.21 1-7012, Paragraph K-85 of the solicitation) of an established product previously produced and sold in substantial commercial quantities (exceeding the criteria at FAR 15.804-3(f)(2)(ii)(A) for at least three years immedi

17、ately preceding the issuance date of the solicitation. The broom/blower/engine skid furnished, or earlier models of it, absent minor modifications, shall have routinely been supported with sparehepair parts which were produced or sold in the normal course of business. At the time of delivery, the co

18、ntractor shall funiish the Administrative Contracting Officer with verification of compliance with these requirements. NOTE TO OFFERORS: Offerors shall provide, as part of their proposals, the following information on the sweeper (or its earlier models) being offered as a commercial item: (1) Total

19、sales to the U.S. Government or to contractors for US. Government use during the three years immediately preceding the issuance date of the solicitation. (2) Total sales of the item to the general public during the three years immediately preceding the issuance date of the solicitation. (3) Length o

20、f time the item has been sold in the commercial market place. (4) Points of contact and phone numbers of customers to which the item has been sold in the commercial market place.
