Flowmeters, packaged as specified (see 6.2.1), shall be packed in snug-fitting, wood-cleated fiberboard, wood-cleated plywood, nailed wood,

16、or fiberboard boxes conforming to PPP-B-591 (class I), PPP-E-601 (domzstic type), PPP-B-621 (class i), or PP-B-636 (domestic class), respectively, at the box specification or appendix thereto. The gross weight of wood or wood-cleated boxes shall not exceed 200 pounds; fiber boxes shall not exceed th

17、e weight limitations of the applicable box specification. Wood or wood-cleated boxes ex- ceeding 200 pounds shall be modified by the addition of nominal 2 by 4 inch wood skids in accordance with PPP-B-621. option of the contractor. 18、. Flowmeters shall be packed to ensure caf-rier acceptance and safe delivery to destination. Containers shall comply with the Uniform Freight Classification rules or other carrier regulations applicable to the mode of t raiispor tat ion. 5.3 Harking. In addition to any special marking required (see

19、6.2.1), interior packages and shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. 6. NOTES 61 Intended use. The flowmeters covered by this specification are intended for operation in freshwater systems at temperatures up to 160F and for flow rates up to 1000 gallons per minute. 6.2 O

Invitations for bids should provide that the Government reserves the right to waive the requirement or samples for first article inspection as to those bidders offering a product which has been pre- viously acquired or

30、 tested by the Government, and that bidders offering such products, who. wish to rely on such production or test, must furnish evidence with the bid that prior Government approval is .presently appropriate for the pending contract. 6.4 Provisioning. Provisioning Tcchiiical Documentation (PTD), spare

31、 parts, and repair parts should be furnished as specified in the contract. 6.4.1 When ordering spare parts or repair parts for the equipment covered by this specification, the contract should state that such spare parts and repair parts should meet the same requirements and quality assurance provisi
