SCOPE 1.1 Scope, This specification covers one type of igniter u

The following documents form a part of this specification to the extent invoked herein. Unless otherwise indi

11、 and procedures proposed for production. and is for the purpose of determining that prior to starting production, the contractors production methods are capable of yielding items that comply with the technical requirements of the contract. The sample will be=tested as specified in Section 4 herein 3
12、.2.3 Materials. 3.2.3.1 Materials and treatments of materials. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, all materials and treat- ments of materials and parts used in the manufacture of the igniter shall be in accordance with the applicable documents listed on BuWeps Dwg. 2526678
13、. 3.2.3.2 Metals. Metals shall be of the corrosion-resistant type or shall be adequately protected to resist corrosion during the normal storage and service life of the igniter. Unless suitably protected against electrolytic corrosion, dissimilar metals as defined in MS33586 shall not be used in int
14、imate contact. 3.2.4 Definitions. Definitions of terms appear in Section 6. 3.3 Performance requirements and product characteristics. Un- less specified otherwise, the igniter shall satisfy the following performance requirements when tested as specified in Section 4, 3.3.1 Static pressure. The ignit
15、er case, with the electrical terminals and insulating insert installed, shall be capable of with- standing an internal hydrostatic pressure of 10,000 pounds per square inch, gage (psig) for 10 seconds before and after firing, without leaking. 3.3.2 Bridge wire resistance. The igniter shall contain t
16、wo resistive bridge wire elements, either one capable of firing the igniter. The resistance of each bridge element in a loaded igniter shall be 1.2 k 0.15 ohms prior to firing. between pins 1 and 2 and between pins 3 and 2 shall be a minimum of 1.05 ohms at 1.5 volts, direct current, After firing, t

The resistance prior to firing, be- tween the bridge wire and the case of the loaded igniter, shall be 1000 ohms minimum at 1.5 volts, direct current. The resistance between th
18、e bridge wire elements and the case after firing shall be 1.05 ohms minimum at 1.5 volts, direct current. 3.3.4 Auto-ignition. 3.3.4.1 Low temperature. The igniter shall be capable of with- standing a temperature of f170“ F for a period of 2 hours without self-igniting and thereafter shall meet the
19、performance requirements and product characteristics. 3.3.4.2 High temperature. The igniter shall be capable of with- standing a temperature of -250“ F for a period of 8 hours without self-igniting. The igniter is not required, thereafter, to meet the performance requirements and product characteris
20、tics. 3.3.5 Maximum no-fire current. A direct current of 0.2 amperes maximum flowing through either bridge wire for a minimum of 5 minutes, shall not cause the igniter to fire, and thereafter shall meet the per- formance requirements and product characteristics. 3.3.6 Minimum firing current. Either
21、bridge wire shall be capable of firing the igniter when a direct current of 0.9 amperes minimum is passed through it. The direct current shall be limited to an on-time of 100 milliseconds (ms). 3.3.7 Maximum firinp current. Either bridge wire shall be capable of firing the igniter when a direct curr
22、ent of 5 amperes maximum is passed through it for 20 ms. 3.3.8 Pressure output. The igniter shall develop a pressure out- put versus time characteristic when fired into a closed chamber of 0.305 cubic inches with the igniter and chamber previously conditioned to a temperature in the range of O“ F to
23、 +140“ F. within the limits illustrated in Figure 1 3.3.9 Calorimetric output. The total calculated calorimetric output shall be not less than 900 calories 3.3.10 Metallic particles. The metallic particle content shall constitute a minimum of 25 percent, by weight, of the main charge. 4 Licensed by
