9、ion and the references cited herein, the text of this specification shall take precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of 3. REQUIREENTS 3.1 First article. When specified, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3 and 6.3). 3.2 Material, Unless otherwise specif

10、ied in the contract, or purchase order, al 1 material s and purchased parts entering into the fi na1 assembly of the adapter shall conform strictly to the detail requirements indicated on the drawings and specifications listed on LD 282828 or as specified herein. 3.3. Design and construction. adapte

11、r kit (drawing lrlz853) shall be of the design, construction and physical dimensions specified in LD282828. The adapter kit shall consist of a cadmium plated steel mtainer nominally three inches in diameter and 2-1/16 inches deep. A coil spring, approximately two inches in diameter, shall be secured

12、 in the bottom of the retainer. A cadmium plated steel spring assembly shall have a plug seal at each end and shall be attached to the coil spring with a wire. 13、3.4.1 Sealing. The adapter kit shall withstand an external hydrostatic pressur- psig minimum to 6.0 psig maximum for a minimum period of 30 seconds without leakage into the fuze simulator cavity when tested as specified in 4.5.1. 3.4.2 Leaf spri ng embri ttlement. The 1 eaf spri ng (drawing 121 2851

14、 ) shall not crack or break when tested as specified in 4.5.2. 3.5 Workmanship, The product, in all stages of production, shall be processed under such inspection control as to assure uni formi ty in qual i ty. There shall be no imperfections or deviations from the specification affecting the functi

15、oning or assembly of the product. Where applicable, al 1 material shall be free of pits, corrosion, cracks, spalls, rough edges, etc. All components shall be free of chips, dirt, grit, or other foreign material. The cleaning methods used shall not be injurious to any of the parts nor shall the parts

16、 be contaminated by the cleaning agents employed. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise

17、 specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor mj use his own or aw other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the

18、specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supppl ies and servi ces conf om to prescri bed requirements. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspections specified herein are -. classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3). b. Quality conformance inspection

19、 (see 4.4). 4.3 First article inspection. First article inspection shall be performed at a laboratory acceptable to the Government on sample units produced with equipment and rocedures normally used in production. First article under inspection methods (see 4.5) . inspection sha P 1 consist of all t

20、he tests of this specification as specified 4.3.1 .Sam le. Unless otherwise specffied (see 6.3) in the contract or purchase _.Fib. o er, the first article sample shall consist of forty adapter kits. Approval of the first article shall be based on no defects allowed in a unit. 4.4 Quality conformance

21、 inspection. Quality conformance inspection shall consist of all the tests specified under inspection methods (see 4.5). 4.4.1 Inspection lot. unless otherwise specified by the procuring agency, each inspection lot shall consist of 3000 units. The inspection lot definition, formation and size shall

22、be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 3 Licensed by Information Handling Services4.4.2 Sampling lan. Samples shall be se3ecked at-random from the inspection lot. for _Il_erc t e sea ing test (see 4.5.1), samples.shal1 be inspected in accordance with-MILLSTD-105, special inspection level S-4, acceptance

23、 quality level (AQL) 2.5:pement defective. “For the 4eaf-sprPng embri ttlement test (see 4.5.2), failure of one or more leaf -springs (drawing 121 2851 ) shall be cause for rejection of the inspection lot-represented. 4.5 Inspection methods. 4.5.1 Sealing. Sample adapter kits shall be assembled on t

24、he fuze simulator, drawing-3, sheet 6, -wi%h- the U-pin (drawing 1129618) in place and submerged in water under Jiydrostatic -pressure as -specified in 3.4.1. Release the pmssrtre and remove from tank. -Adapter kits -shall be inspected through the plastic end for presence of wter in the fuze, simula

25、tor cavity. Defectives are adapter kits failing to meet the requirements of 3.4.1. 4.5.2 Leaf spri ng embri ttlement. After completion of the seal test, al 1 samples shall be subjected to the leaf spring embrittlement test as follows. Remove seal plugs. Wrap the leaf spri ng (drawing 121 2851 ) arou

26、nd a two inch diameter rod and leave for a period of 165 +15 hours. The leaf spring may be held by tape or atv other method that does Fot add support to the spring. Defectives are lead springs failing to meet the requirements of 3.4.2. 4.5.3 Examination. Adapter kits shall be inspected for- conforma

27、nce to the mquirements of this specification with respect to material, design, construction and workmanship (see.3.2, 3.3 and 3.5). 4.5.4 Inspection of packaging. -The sampling and inspection of the packing and container marki ng shall be in accordance with LD282830, 1331 991, MIL-STD-129 and MIL-SI

28、D-1168 (see 5.2 thru 5.3.2). 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation. Not applicable. 5.2 Packing. Packing shall be level A only. 5.2.1 Level A. Sixty adapter kits shall be packed in accordance with LD28283D per container drawi ng 1331 991. 5.3 Markina. 5.3.1 Normal marking. Boxes shall be marked in accordanc

29、e with container drawing 1331991 . Marking shall confarm to the requirements of MIL-STD-129. 5.3.2 Ammunition lot number. Ammunition lot-number shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1168. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use, The Adapter Kit, Marine Marker, MK 34, Mod O is intended for use with the Marker, Locat

Acquisition documents should specify the fol 1 owi ng: a. Title, number, and date of this specific

31、ation. b. Quantity required. c. First article inspection (see 6.3). 6.3 First article. Wen a first article inspection is required, the item will be tested and should be a first article sample. When a contractor is in continuous production of adapter kits from contract to contract, consideration shou

32、ld be given to waive the first article inspection. The contracting officer shall include specific instructions in the contract or purchase order regarding arrangements for examinations, tests and disposi tion. 6.4 Changes from previous issue.
