2、SENTING RELATIONSHIPS Recommendation X.732 Foreword ITU (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations Specialized Agency in the field of telecommunications. The CClT (the International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee) is a permanent organ of the . Some 166 member count

3、ries, 68 teiecom operating entities, 163 scientific and industrial organizations and 39 international organizations participate in CCIIT which is the body which sets world telecommunications standards (Recommendations). The approval of Recommendations by the members of CCT is covered by the procedur

4、e laid down in CCm Resolution No. 2 (Melbourne, 1988). In addition, the Plenary Assembly of CCITT, which meets every four years, approves Recommendations submitted to it and establishes the study programme for the foilowing period. in some areas of information technology, which fall within CCITs pur

5、view, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. The text of CcITT Recommendation X.732 was approved on 17th of January 1992. X.732 (1992 E) ISOIEC 10164-3 : 1993 (E) 6 Requirements The management user needs the ability to examine the relationships among various parts of the system or systems, to see how the operation

47、 of one part of the system depends upon or is depended upon by other parts. Knowing the existence of one part, the user needs to locate other parts that are related to it. The user also needs the ability to change such relationships and to be notified of such changes when they occur due to other cau

48、ses. This Recommendation I international Standard defines the general attributes, operations and notifications that can be part of any managed object defioition. 7 Model The Ldfmitions used -J this Recommendation I Internationai Standard are to ass-t the description of the mode attributes for repres

49、enting relationships. for 7.1 General A relationship is defined by a set of rules that describe how the operation of one part of an open system affects the operation of other parts of the open system. A relationship is said to exist among managed objects when the operation of one managed object affects the operation of the other managed objects. For a felationship to be significant within the context of OS1 management, sufficient management information must be available to aow the user of Management Information Services to i
