8、 object of this test method is to determine the tension set characteristics of elastomeric test pieces ofdefined shape or of complete test samples, after these have been stretched to s specified strain. It is in-tended to measure the ability of elastomers of hardnesses within the range (30 94) Shore

9、 A (IRHD) toretain their visco- elastic properties after extension at (+23 5) C to a specified strain, which is maintainedfor a specified period at (+23 5) C or at a specified higher temperature and then cooled (if wanted) in thestressed or unstressed condition to (+23 5) C.2 DefinitionsThe tension

10、set under constant elongation is defined as the residual elongation in a test piece after it hasbeen stretched to a specified tensile strain for a specified period and then allowed to recover for a specifiedperiod. The tension set characteristic is a variable with time.3 Test Piece3.1 Type of test p

11、ieceStandard strip test pieces, strip test pieces with enlarged ends, ring test pieces, complete components orsuitable parts of them (e.g. cut lengths from extrusions or profiles; ring shaped test pieces) shall be used,care being taken, that the cross- section is uniform for the gauge length. Test r

17、nwert.3 Probekrper3.1 ProbenformAls Probekrper werden Normstreifen, Normstreifen mit Schultern und Normringe, sowie Fertigteile odergeeignete Probekrper aus Fertigteilen (z.B. abgelngte Profile, ringfrmige Probekrper) verwendet, dieber die Melnge einen gleichbleibenden Querschnitt haben. 29、n 173.1.5 Whole complete componentsIn special cases complete components (e.g. components in the shape of strips, profiles etc.) shall betested as received, care being taken that the cross- section is uniform for the entire reference length(gauge length) L0.3.1.6 Non- elastic constituents of elastome

30、rs, (e.g. textile fabrics, reinforcements etc.), which could affectthe test results, shall be removed prior to testing.3.2 Test piece preparationWhere material alone is submitted for examination, it should be in sheet form. The thickness of the sheetshould be equal to that specified for the test pie

31、ce. If the desired test piece cannot be cut directly from thecomponent, slices of adequate thickness should be first prepared by cutting or other suitable means. Anyunevenness should be removed by lightly buffing. Ring test pieces shall-normally be cut by means of a pairof concentric circular dies o

32、r rotating cutters. The separation of the two cutting edges of such dies or cuttersshall not differ from the average value by more than 0,05 mm. Heating during test piece preparation shouldbe avoided. To facilitate the preparation, a liquid (e.g. water) which does not affect the test piece may beuse

33、d.3.3 Marking3.3.1 The reference length (gauge length) L0 shall be marked on strip test pieces using a suitable benchmarker and ink which does not affect the material and withstands the temperature of test. The refer-ence length shall be between (25 50) mm. A reference length of 50 mm in the case of

34、 strip testpieces with or without enlarged ends is preferred.3.3.2 In the case of ring test pieces, components in the shape of rings and rotationally symmetrical compo-nents the inner diameter shall be used as reference length L0.3.4 Number of test piecesAt least 3 test pieces shall be tested.3.5 Co

35、nditioning of test piecesFor initial sample approval and arbitration purposes, the minimum time between vulcanization and testing ofelastomers shall be 7 days. For routine quality control tests, the period shall be 72 h min. The test piecesshall be maintained at a temperature of (+23 5) C for at lea

37、rtigteile in Form von Streifen, Profilen usw.) mit berder Melnge gleichbleibendem Querschnitt im Anlieferungszustand geprft.3.1.6 Nicht- elastische Bestandteile von Elastomeren, wie z.B. Gewebe, Verstrkungen u.a., die das Me-ergebnis verflschen, sind vor der Prfung zu entfernen.3.2 Probenvorbereitun

38、qBei gesonderter Herstellung von Probekrpern ist die Plattenform zu whlen. Die Dicke der Platten sollgleich der Dicke des fertigen Probekrpers sein. Lassen sich die Probekrper aus Fertigteilen nicht unmittel-bar herausschneiden, so sind Platten von entsprechender Dicke herauszuarbeiten, aus denen di

39、e Probekr-per zu entnehmen sind. Unebenheiten sind durch Schleifen zu beseitigen. Die Probekrper sind durchSchneiden, Spalten, Schlen und Schleifen aus dem Fertigteil herzustellen. Ringfrmige Probekrper wer-den blicherweise mit einem Paar konzentrischer, kreisfrmiger Schneidemesser oder mittels roti

40、erenderMesser herausgeschnitten. Der Abstand zweier parallel bzw. konzentrisch schneidender Kanten einesSchneidwerkzeuges soll vom Mittelwert um nicht mehr als 0,05 mm abweichen. Eine Wrmeentwicklung istbei der Herstellung der Probekrper nicht zulssig. Zur Erleichterung der Arbeitsvorgnge kann eine,

41、 auf dieProbe- krper nicht quellend wirkende Flssigkeit, z.B. Wasser, verwendet werden.3.3 Melnge3.3.1 Die Kennzeichnung der Melnge L0 (Memarkenabstand) ist auf einer ebenen Unterlage mit einerTinte vorzunehmen, die das Elastomer nicht nachteilig beeinflusst und den whrend der Prfung an-gewandten Te

42、mperaturen standhlt. Die Melnge soll zwischen (25.50) mm betragen. Als bevor-zugte Melnge gilt bei Normstreifen (mit und ohne Schultern) 50 mm.3.3.2 Bei Normringen, ringfrmigen Fertigteilen und rotations- symmetrischen Teilen wird der Innendurch-messer als Melnge L0 angesehen.3.4 ProbenanzahlEs sind

43、 mindestens 3 Probekrper zu prfen.3.5 ProbenvorbehandlungBei Erstbemusterungen und in Schiedsfllen ist die Prfung nicht frher als 7 Tage, fr die laufende Quali-ttsberwachung nicht frher als 72 h nach der Vulkanisation durchzufhren. Vor der Prfung mssen dieProbekrper mindestens 8 h im unbeanspruchten

45、y means of a dial gauge. The circular contact foot should be flat, with a di-ameter between (3,5 10) mm exerting a pressure over the contact area of (20 2) kPa. For elasto-mers of hardness below 35 Shore A (IRHD), the contact pressure should be reduced to (10 2) kPa.The thickness should be measured

46、to the nearest 0,01 mm.4.1.2 Gauge for length measurementThe length is measured by means of a suitable measuring device to the nearest 0,2 mm. For strip testpieces (with and without enlarged ends) a bench marker shall be provided to mark the length used formeasurement (reference length or gauge leng

47、th). For marking the bench marks the test pieces shall beplaced on a flat support. For ring test pieces the reference length shall be the inner diameter of thering. To determine the reference length either a graduated cone, allowing measurement to be made tothe nearest 0,5 mm, shall be used or the r

48、eference length shall be measured by an optical method, freeof tension, with an accuracy of 0,5mm.4.2 Heating oven with forced circulation capable of maintaining the required temperature (clause 5.3) withinthe specified tolerance (ovens complying with DIN 50 011, Teil 1, clause 2.2, or BS 2648 are s

49、uitable).4.3 Straining device4.3.1 Strip test piecesConsisting of a metal rod or other suitable guide fitted with pairs of holders, one fixed and one mobilefor the ends of the test piece. The holders shall be in the form of self- tightening clamps for strip testpieces, or in the form of jaws to securely hold the tab ends of strip test pieces with enlarged ends. If sodesired
