11、ns Technical Specification (GTS) has been produced by the Special Mobile Group (SMG) Technical Committee (TC) of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). This GTS defines the principles basis for the rest of the specifications specifying the interface between the Base Station Cont
12、roller, BSC, and the Base Transceiver Station, BTS, with its transceivers within the digital cellular telecommunications system. The contents of this GTS are subject to continuing work within TC-SMG and may change following formal TC-SMG approval. Should TC-SMG modify the contents of this GTS it wil
13、l then be republished by ETSI with an identifying change of release date and an increase in version number as follows: Version 5.x.y where: y the third digit is incremented when editorial only changes have been incorporated in the specif ication; x the second digit is incremented for all other types

This Global System for Mobile communications Techni
16、cal Specification (GTS) gives the principle basis for the rest of the specifications specifying the interface between the Base Station Controller (BSC), and the Base Transceiver Station (BTS), with its transceivers (TRX). These components together form the Base Station System (BSS). (The interface b
17、etween MSC and the BSS is specified in GSM 08.01 to 08.20.) The intention with this interface is to get a unified way of connecting remotely located BTSsTTRXs to a BSC allowing for the interconnection of BSCs and BTSs/TRXs from different manufacturers. In order to keep the BTS as simple as possible,
18、 BTS contains only those functions which have to reside close to the radio interface. 1.1 Normative references This GTS incorporates by dated and undated reference, provisions from other publications. These normative references are cited at the appropriate places in the text and the publications are
