18、ponsible Authority(RA)asdefinedinEN129531.TheextentoftheinspectionsperformedbytheRAisdependentontheon theparticularmodulechosenbythemanufacturer. WhilstthemajorityofshellboilersmanufacturedtothisEuropeanStandardfallunderthemodulesGorH1,other modulescanbechosenbythemanufacturer(seeEN 129531:2002,clau

19、seB.2). ForthepurposeofEN12953,thegeneralrequirementsofthePressureEquipmentDirective(PED)havebeen specificallyinterpretedforbothmodulesGorH1asgivenin3.2and3.3. WhentheshellboilerisdesignedandmanufacturedundertherequirementsofthePED,thenthedocumentsin clause4shouldbesuppliedtothepurchaser. 3.2Module

20、G ThemanufacturershouldensureanddeclaretheshellboilerconformstoEN12953,andifmanufacturedunderthe requirementsofthePED,theRAshouldaffixtheCEmarkandproduceaDeclarationofConformity(seeFigure1). Duringthedesignandconstructionofaspecificshellboilercontract,themanufacturershouldensureanddeclarethe shellboilerconformstoEN12953,andifmanufacturedundertherequirementsofthePEDaffixtheCEmarkandthe identificationnumberoftheRAresponsibleforthequalitysurveillanceandproduceaDeclarationofConfo

39、rmity(see Figure1). ARAshouldapprovethedesign.IfmanufacturedundertherequirementsofthePED,theRAshouldproducea DesignExaminationCertificate(seeFigure3). ARAshouldbeinvolvedinthemanufacturingandinspectionstagesinaccordancewithTable1.Ifmanufactured undertherequirementsofthePED,theRAshouldaffixorcausetob
