Scope1.1 These test methods cover the various test methods thatare applicable to alkylbenzene in order to evaluate thoseproperties pertinent to the characterization of the

3、 alkylbenzenewith respect to its suitability for desired uses.NOTE 1Detergent alkylate comprises alkylbenzenes prepared byvarying processes, of varying alkyl chain configuration and length. Thealkylate is sulfonated for surfactant use, the largest application being indetergent products. Careful cont

4、rol of detergent alkylate characteristics isdesired, for along with sulfonation procedure, variations of the sulfonatecan ensue that may result in either desirable or undesirable end-useproperties.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its us

Purity of Reagents3.1 Purity of ReagentsReagent grade chemicals shall beused in all tests. Unless otherwise indicated, it is intended thatall reagents shall

10、 conform to the specifications of the Commit-tee on Analytical Reagents of the American Chemical Society,where such specifications are available.3Other grades may beused, provided it is first ascertained that the reagent is ofsufficiently high purity to permit its use without lessening theaccuracy o
