Scope1.1 This specification covers high-temperature fiber blanketthermal insulation for use at various temperatures from 1350F(732C) up to 30
3、00F (1649C), except when used in high-temperature furnaces.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bi
4、lity of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.3 When the installation or use of thermal insulationmaterials, accessories, and systems may pose safety or healthproblems, the manufacturers shall provide the user with appro-priate current information regarding any known problemsassociated with the reco
5、mmended use of the companysproducts, and shall also recommend protective measures to beemployed in their safe utilization. 15、ng Information5.1 High-temperature fiber blanket thermal insulation isnormally purchased on the basis of brand name, type, grade,length, width, thickness, and total square footage as specifiedin the purchase order.5.2 The type and grade for the intended service shall be asspecified by the user with
16、the assistance of the supplier wheredesirable.5.3 Inspection and sampling of the material may be speci-fied by the purchaser.5.4 When a certification or test report, or both, is required,this shall be specified by the purchaser.6. Physical and Mechanical Properties6.1 Apparent Thermal Conductivity s
17、hall conform to therequirements of Table 1 when tested in accordance with 10.1.2.6.2 Density shall conform to the requirements of 4.3 with atolerance of +30, 15 % of nominal density when tested inaccordance with 10.1.1.6.3 Temperature of Use shall conform to the requirementsof 4.2 and Table 2 when t
18、ested in accordance with 10.1.4.6.4 Other physical and mechanical properties shall conformto the requirements of Table 2 when tested in accordance withSection 10.7. Dimensions, Weights, and Permissible Variations7.1 Rolls or flat sheets of blanket are normally furnished instandard dimensions as show
19、n in Table 3, Table 4, and Table 5.7.2 Sheets are normally furnished 4 by 8 ft (1219 by 2438mm) at densities above 8 lb/ft3(128 kg/m3).7.3 The standard length, width, and thickness combinationsavailable are a function of the type and grade.
