Scope*1.1 This specification2covers a
3、luminum-alloy permanent mold castings designated as shown in Table 1.1.2This specification is not intended for aluminum-alloy permanent mold castings used in aerospace applications.1.2 This specification is for aluminum-alloy permanent mold castings used in general purpose applications. It may not a
4、ddressthe mechanical properties, integrity testing, and verification required for highly loaded or safety critical applications.1.3 Alloy and temper designations are in accordance with ANSI H35.1/H35.1(M). The equivalent unified numbering systemalloy designations are in accordance with Practice E527
5、.1.4 Unless the order specifies the “M” specification designation, the material shall be furnished to the inch-pound units.1.5 For acceptance criteria for inclusion of new aluminum and aluminum alloys and their properties in this specification, seeAnnex A1 and Annex A2.1.6 UnitsThe values stated in
6、either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values statedin each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining valuesfrom the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.1.7 This
7、standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibilityof the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatorylimitations prior to use.2.
