25、riteria of remote control systems for mining equipmentand machinery. It also recommends safeguarding practices and the provision for trainingof personnel associated with the operation and maintenance of such equipment andmachinery.It applies to systems where the remote controls are located with the

26、operator who remainsin visual and audible range of the equipment or machine being controlled. Typical systemsof remote control may incorporate, but are not limited to, radio or infra-red transmittersand receivers or direct electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic connections.1.2 APPLICATION This Standard

27、 applies to remotely controlled mining equipmentand machines including breaker line supports, continuous miners, flexible conveyor trains,load-haul-dumps, longwall supports and shearers, shovels and shuttle cars.It applies to coal and metalliferous mining machines used in both surface andunderground

28、 mines but does not apply to the following:(a) Mining equipment operated beyond the natural visual and audible range of anoperator, e.g. teleoperated equipment.(b) Automatic guided vehicle systems.(c) Automatic conveyor and shuttle systems.(d) Special purpose machines and equipment.(e) Cranes.(f) Sh

29、aft and drift winders.Following any modification to a machine or remote control equipment, the remote controlsystem shall remain in compliance with the requirements of this Standard.1.3 RELATIONSHIP TO REGULATIONS The requirements of this Standard may beread in conjunction with, but do not take prec

30、edence over, regulations of a regulatoryauthority that may apply in a specific area.1.4 INNOVATION Novel materials, designs, methods of assembly, procedures orsimilar which do not comply with a specific requirement of this Standard or are notmentioned in it, but which give equivalent results to thos

41、ne element.1.7.5 Emergency stop a machine mounted device using failsafe components thatoverrides all other machine controls, removes power from the machine actuator(s), andcauses all moving parts to stop.NOTE: For electrically operated machines, fail-safe components would need to be hardwired.1.7.6

42、Failure to safety (fail-safe) any failure of the machinery, its associatedsafeguards, control circuits or its power supply that leaves the machinery in a safecondition.1.7.7 Guard (or barrier) a physical means of separating personnel from the restrictedspace.1.7.8 Hazardous motion unintended or unex

43、pected machine motion that may causeinjury.1.7.9 Hold a stopping of all movement of the machine during which some or all poweris maintained to the machine.1.7.10 Inactive controller any remote control unit for a multi-control machineinstallation, which is not currently the active remote controller.1
