2、unand and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1, SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers the loading, assembling and packing for one type of firing device, designated as Firing Device, Multi-Purpose, M142. 2. Materials shall be in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications and standards. 1 3.2 Components and assemblies. The parts shall comply with all requirements s

8、pecified on Drawing (dwg) 9296865 as applicable and with all requirements specified in applicable specifications. 3.3 Firing device functioning. The firing device shall not prematurely release the firing pin and shall mechanically initiate the primer- providing actuation by pull, tension release ,-

9、pressure and pressure release as follows. 3.3.1 Pull (trip wire). The firing device shall function the primer when a load of 4.0 pounds minimum (lbs min) to 9.0 lbs maximum (max) is applied to the trip wire in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the firing device body (see 4.5.1.1)

10、. 3.3.2 Tension release. The firing device shall function the primer when a tension of 3 lbs + .25 lbs inthe trip wire applied to the tension release attachment 7s relieved by cutting the trip wire (see 4.5.1.2). 3.3.2.1 The tension of 3 lbs 2 .25 lbs shall place the tension release attachment to th

11、e set position where the gooseneck arm (Leg A) is adjacent to the extreme tip of the straight ann (Leg B). 12、rimer when a varying load of fifteen (15) lbs. to twenty-five (25) lbs. is applied to the sear platform (see 4.5.1.3). 3.3.4 Pressure release. After a. load of 4 lbs. is applied to the sear platform, the device shall function upon the removal of 2.0 - + .1 lbs. (see 4.5.1.4). 3.4 Water immersion. Th

26、 safety pin or if four (4) or more firing devices fail to function through the blasting cap (major defect) or if more than two (2) fail to function through the blasting cap in any one (1) firing mode (major defect). 4.4.3.2 Functioning.
