SCOPE. This CID covers mediu

2、m and large size radiator filler necks for 64 and 95millimeter (mm) size radiator caps rated nominally at 41 to 55 kilopascals (kPa) and 34 to 48 kPapressure relieving, respectively.2. CLASSIFICATION. The filler necks shall be of the following types:Type I - Medium size (for 64 mm size radiator caps

3、)Type II - Large size (for 95 mm size radiator caps)3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.3.1 Materials. The type I filler neck material shall be brass alloy, Unified Numbering System(UNS) 24000,26000, or 26800, temper-anneal, 1.02 mm thick. The type II filler neck materialshall be brass, sheet or strip, UNS 2

4、6000, temper-optional, 1.57 mm thick. 5、 Heat treatment. The type II filler neck shall be stress relieved after forming.3.3 Design and construction. The filler necks shall be designed and constructed as specified inSAE J164 for medium and large filler necks.3.4 Identification and markings. Identification and marking of the filler necks sh

6、all bepermanent and legible and shall include as a minimum, the manufacturers identification code(CAGE) and the part identification number (PIN) (see 6.2).4.1 Responsibility for inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of allinspections (examinations and tests).4.2 Contractor ce

7、rtification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidencethat the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description andthat the product conforms to the producers own drawing, specifications, workmanship standards,and quality assurance practice

8、s. Items with known defects shall not be submitted forGovernment acceptance. The Government reserves the right to require proof of suchconformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under theprovisions of the contract.5. PRESERVATION, PACKAGING, PACKING, LABE

9、LING, AND MARKING.Preservation, packaging, packing, and marking for the desired level shall be as specified in thecontract (see 6.2).6. NOTES. Acquisition documents must specify

11、 the following:a. Title, number, and date of this CID.b. Issue of DODISS to be cited in the solicitation and, if required, the specific issue ofthe individual documents referenced.c. PIN number and quantity of filler necks required.d. Selection of applicable level and packaging requirements.2Provide

13、.4 Cross-reference data. Filler necks conforming to this CID are interchangeable/substitutablewith filler necks conforming to MS35841 C and MS51063C.6.5 Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials inaccordances with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent
