3、ked polyethylene(PEX) push-fit mechanical fittings for use with crosslinkedpolyethylene (PEX) tubing in12,34, 1 and 114 in. nominaldiameters that meet the requirements of Specification F876.These fittings are intended for use in residential andcommercial, hot and cold, potable water distribution sys
4、tems aswell as hydronic heating, including under-floor heatingsystems, up to and including 100 psig (6.90 bar) and 180F(82C). Included are the requirements for materials,workmanship, dimensions, performance, and markings to beused on the fittings.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be r

The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.3 The text of this specification references notes, footnotes,and appendixes which provide explanatory material. 20、erwise indicated.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 push-fit fittingA type of fitting that joins pipes thatare not caulked, threaded, soldered, cemented, brazed orwelded. These joints consist of elastomeric seals and tubegrippers. Such joints must be installed in accordance to
21、themanufacturers instructions.4. Classification4.1 This specification covers PEX bodied push-fit fittingssuitable for use with PEX tubing that meets the requirements ofSpecification F876.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 Fitting BodyThe fitting body shall be made fromcrosslinked polyethylene compounds
22、 suitable for elevatedtemperature pressure service.NOTE 1Since fittings specified by this standard will be used in hot andcold water plumbing systems, a material used to manufacture fittings inaccordance with this specification must demonstrate qualities consistentwith that application in addition t
23、o the fitting performance requirements ofthis specification. Those qualifying characteristics include, but are notlimited to, an established hydrostatic design basis (HDB) or stress designbasis (SDB) in accordance with PPI TR-3, or an ISO 9080 compliantminimum required stress (MRS), or similar ratin
24、g.5.2 Tubular StiffenerIf required by the manufacturer, atubular stiffener shall be used. It shall support the PEX tubingat least in the areas of sealing and gripping. Split stiffenersshall not be used. The stiffener shall be made from one of thefollowing:5.2.1 Machined BrassMachined brass stiffener
