Terminology3.1 accuracy of regulationthe amount by which the down-stream pressure may vary when the valve is set at any pressurewithin the required set pressure limit and is subjected to anycombination of inlet pr
17、essure, flow demand, and ambienttemperature variations, within the specified limits.3.2 design pressure and temperaturethe maximum pres-sure and temperature the valve should be subjected to underany condition. These are the pressure and temperature uponwhich the strength of the pressure-containing e
18、nvelope isbased.3.3 hydrostatic test pressurethe maximum test pressurethat the valve is required to withstand without damage. Valveoperation is not required during application of this testpressure, but after the pressure has been removed, the valvemust meet all performance requirements.3.4 lockup pr
19、essurethe outlet pressure delivered by apressure-reducing valve under shutoff conditions (that is, whenthe flow demand is reduced to a point where it is equal to orless than the allowable leakage as defined in 8.3).3.5 nominal pressurethe approximate maximum pressureto which the valve will be subjec
20、ted in service under normalconditions.3.6 set pressurethe downstream pressure which the valveis set to maintain under a given set of operating conditions (thatis, inlet pressure and flow). Ideally, the valve should be set atdownstream pressure approximately equal to the mid-point ofthe set pressure
21、limits (defined in 3.7).3.7 set pressure limits (range of set pressure adjustment)the range of set pressure over which the valve can be adjustedwhile meeting the specified performance requirements.4. Classification4.1 Valves shall be of the following compositions andpressure ratings, as specified (s
22、ee Section 5 and 6.1.7). Thepressure-temperature ratings shown below are applicable to thepressure-containing components of the valve.
