3、ce: 79.10Subject: Correction of the water failure testDECISION:Water failure test79.10 A heat pump water heater shall be operated in accordance with Clauses 79.5 to 79.7 until allconditions have stabilized. The water flow shall then be restricted or stopped. The refrigerant pressure thatresults unde

4、r this condition shall not exceed one-fifth third of the pressure that the system is capable ofwithstanding without failure.RATIONALE FOR DECISION:The strength tests in UL 1995, 5thedition, Clause 34.3, were reduced from 5X pressure to 3X pressure toalign with the pressure requirements in UL 60335-2

5、-40. This fact was incorrectly overlooked in UL 1995,5thedition, and this Certification Requirement Decision is intended to document this correction.In the water failure test, UL 1995, 4thedition, the refrigerant pressure was required not to exceed 1/5 ofthe system pressure based on the pressure com

6、ponents required to meet a 5X pressure strength test.Since UL 1995, 5thedition requires a 3X pressure strength test, the pressure requirements in Clause79.10 are required to be 1/3 of that total pressure, rather than 1/5 of the total system pressure.Copyright 2015 Underwriters Laboratories Inc.UL, i
